The element suites are very good located, you have a good walking distance to the center. Our room had a modern design and everything worked well, some things in the room were old but that wasn't bad. The personal was very nice and helpful, and we came really spontaneous and had a good room for a good price! Would go...

The offered guest relation service is excellent. I hope to stay their next time I´m in Istanbul. The Beyoglu district is a great location for young people, full of restaurants and close to Taksim Square. Five stars!!!

So I recently stayed at the Mio Suites in Taksim. First the good. The place looked great. The room was large, the shower was hot, and the room was pleasant. Its a 10 min walk from the Havatas drop off point, and a short walk to Istiklal street and Taksim square. Now for the bad. Like other reviewers have said,...

We booked a girlie holiday and for that we were extremely grateful for the location. It was in one of the most, if not THE bustling parts of Istanbul. The owner of the hotel was extremely helpful and he was almost like having a PA for the trip. He was only too obliging to book taxis, restaurants, carry luggage, and...

The staff is nice but not helpful. They say they will fix things but don't. Broken toilet, wifi and heating. The room also looks like a rent by the hour sex room with mirrors on the ceiling. Expensive

Mio Suites is located about 2 blocks from Taksim Square, so the location is great - if there aren't any protests. Unfortunately, we had to change locations as it became unsafe. When there aren't such government/public conflicts, the area may still be a bit noisy as it's in a rundown area with lots of children and adults making noise. The...

Pros: + modern design + walking distance to Beyoglu + there is a minibar (although empty) + friendly staff Cons: - Wifi didn't work. The reception said it would be taken care of, but it didn't work during the 3 days we stayed there - Shower didn't have warm water all the time, it kept alternating between ice cold and...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
