Perfect hotel, the best place to visit such a wonderful city. We stayed at Muhlis Bey for 5 nights. It's very close to the Blue Mosque, Ayasofia, Topkapi Palace and the Cisterna Basilica (two minutes walking). Highlights of the Muhlis Bey Hotel: the breakfast in the terrace, with a wonderful view of the Blue Mosque and Ayasofia. The staff is...

The position of the hotel is perfect. You are in the middle of all the main monuments, mosques, etc. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was pretty small and the breakfast could be better.

This small hotel was a real find and well situated for all major attractions in the Old City. It is basically furnished, small but adequate rooms, beautifully clean and provides an adequate breakfast (even when departing at 6am!) However, it is the charming, helpful staff that set this hotel from some others. Benjamin and the others were only too happy...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
