This is great hotel.Rooms are clean, towels are changed each day, sheets every two days, food is very good (eggs, bread, 2 kinds of salamy, 2 kinds of cheeses, cake, butter, jam, olives, tomatoes, nutella, coffe, tea, juice...) . Hotel is 5 minutes to Blue mosque with panoramic view (sea and mosque) from dining room. You have to pay cash when...

The hotel manager is such a rude and arrogant guy. The rooms are average. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The other dtaff is alright but not very helpful either. The breakfast is nothing extraordinary.

We had a very bad experience with manager of this hotel. We have reserved three months in advance via booking.com two appartments, each of them for 7 people. When we arrived to hotel, hotel manager informed us that he has canceled our reservation because of some issue with my credit card and that he can still give us these two...

I like a good bargain, and The Abella is an excellent deal. The goods: Great price. Great location, just a 5 minute easy walk to the Blue Mosque, Haiga Sophia, palace, 15 min to the Grand Bazaar. The Staff was very nice and very helpful. The breakfast was included and was pretty standard (instant coffee, bread, boiled eggs, various spreads)....

The people, food and management everywhere we went in Istanbul were fabulous, BUT NOT HERE. These people do not know how to run a hospitality business. Fortunately, we only stopped here for the fabulous rooftop view for lunch. We did not stay here! But we sat atop the rooftop waiting for our food FOREVER. When I went downstairs to use...

Such a shame as some of the staff were helpful (though oppressed by the owner) and the hotel had a good location and nice roof terrace. But the rooms were cramped, the sheets like sandpaper. The breakfast was missing basic items, when we pointed this out to staff just standing about they said they were waiting for supplies - there...

Staff: The staff has a good sense of humor and are very generous, but they're always insisting you pay money for tours from their friends who have tour guide companies. I can see why the woman traveling alone was a little paranoid, but I think this is just how the majority of Turkish guys act (I've learned to talk back...

This hotel (wouldn't even call it that) was not value for money. A lot of things I wasn't impressed with. It was very dull, bland not a very welcoming atmosphere. The bed sheets were not changed daily, rooms were not very clean. Although they had cleaners, they didn't do a great job as bathroom still looked dirty. There was no...

Didn't actually stay at this hotel, but stopped off one evening on our way back to our hotel for a drink and a bite to eat. Very friendly staff and good service. The food was OK and the facilities were very clean. Overall not an unpleasant visit.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

“I agree with the other guy, you probably don't want a room on the 1st floor too near the front desk. Also, everyone smokes especially the boss in the lobby so the hotel always smelled horrible.”

“Back of the hotel on either 3rd or 4th floor. 1st floor too close to reception noise, 5th floor you will hear everything on the breakfast terrace.”
