My husband and I stayed at the Mosiac Hotel as part of a tour. We stayed two nights before and one night after our tour of Turkey. The location is excellent, the tram is a very short walk and is a great and inexpensive way to get around. The Blue Mosque is within walking distance and the grand bazaar is...

Stayed two different times on a Gate1 tour, March and April of this year. First time the room had a stained rug. Second time the room had a weirdly designed bathroom. You had to be in the shower stall or on the toilet to close the door. Front desk staff varied in attitude and helpfulness from nice to okay. Location...

We stayed here as part of a Gate 1 tour of Turkey. Hotel was clean and had all the basics. Location was great - you can walk to the grand bizarre, the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and a ton of restaurants and shops. As in most of Turkey, controlling the heat and AC was a challenge. Don't...

The only reason I don't rate it a 4 out of 5 is because they still haven't got the non-smoking thing down yet. The property itself is very nice. Possibly even 4 star nice if you try out their spa which includes the Turkish Bath. The spa's hours are wierd though. If guests enter before 6pm, it is free. Afterwards,...

did not get a very good room (window opened to an 8X8 chute that housed the a/c units); worst part was that one could not cool the room down by opening the window. Service was fine, food good. Convenient location for the Blue Mosque, Cisterns, Grand Bazaar.

Extremely friendly and very helpful staff. Great location for old town. 15-20 minute walk to Grand Bazaar and Blue Mosque. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast spread was very substantial. The bathroom was very small. The hotel has a very small swimming pool which guests are only able to use between 12-6pm.

The Mosaic Hotel is a comfortable hotel conveniently located in the heart of Istanbul and very close to the Grand Bazaar. My wife and I stayed here through a Gate 1 Travel trip for two nights at the start of our Turkey vacation and one night before we flew back home. It has a well-equipped gym and a largeTurkish bath,...

Our room was small but very comfortable. Heat is by radiator and the room can get very warm. The desk clerk was very helpful in telling us how to turn it off and how the wall air conditioner worked. Our room was directly over the bar and the music was on for a good part of the evening, but was...

It's a clean, well maintained hotel with good facilities like jacuzzi and turkish bath and a nice restaurant offering turkish cuisine. The rooms are pretty small can hardly accomodate a baby cot. The price is reasonable and it is close to most of the attractions and the tram station. It is 10 mins walk to grand bazar where one can...

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighbourhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighbourhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
