Stayed at as part of Gate 1 (Virgin Vacations) 13 day Turkish Treasures tour. This hotel is in a great location. About a 10min walk to the Grand Bazaar, 30mins to Blue Mosque, 20 mins to Galata Brige with wonderful sites to see along the way. There are a lot of Doviz (money exchangers) with great rates for either buying...

Location- while it is good for exploring the Sultanhamet area, I went on a tourist bus for site seeing. We were the first to be picked up and the last to be dropped. We wasted over an hour because of this. If you are taking a group site seeing tour beware of this. There are quite a few restaurants around...

Only spent a few days here on two seperate occassions but found the location excellent for exploring to the Blue Mosque, Sultanhamet, the Grand Bazaar and this more touristy peninsula of Istanbul. The breakfast was first rate and facilities and rooms had all the amenities, albeit they were small. Staff were friendly and helpful and there were a wide range...

The good thing about this hotel is the location - you are within walking distance of the Grand Bazaar and dozens of restaurants. The rooms, however, are not at all comfortable. The beds are hard twin size cots with a thin blanket and rock hard pillow. While this is bad, the worst part was air conditioning that had only two...

It is within walking distance to the Grand Bazaar, only 10-15 minutes, and about same distance to the Suleymaniye Mosque and the Aqueduct; 30 minutes to the Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia. Only 5 minutes to the tram line. There is a very nice bakery close-by, and a very nice place for kabob, located on the other side of the...

This hotel is in a very convenient location, however, I did not feel completely appreciated or accepted as a guest here. I stayed here twice and both times I was given unclean rooms. I had to ask them to remove the rugs that were in the bath that was so moldy and filthy. The AC was not allowed to be...

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighbourhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighbourhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
