Room was spacious and clean and although it looked onto a courtyard, it was quiet. Walking distance to main attractions and lots of restaurants. Close to tram stop and 15 minutes ride to the Grand Bazaar.

I stayed here alone for two nights, unfortunately the room was in the basement and the noise from outside and toilet ( water was somehow always running) annoyed me a lot. However, there was one more thing annoyed me the most was the reception guy's call . He called at 11PM to my room phone and suddenly said "come to...

I stayed several nights in Mevlana while visiting the Sultanahment district of Istanbul. I was in Turkey for my sister's wedding. The location cannot be beat. Not only is it walking distance to all the amazing sights in Sultanahmet and close to tons of bars and restaurants. The traditional Turkish breakfast every morning was just fantastic and I typically ate...

This hotel was a great price, had a delicious (large) Turkish breakfast with a great view of the Blue Mosque (or the water), friendly staff, and comfortable rooms. I recommend using the shuttle service from the airport because finding it the first time by yourself could be tricky, but once you know where it is, getting there from the Blue...

While the Mevlana hotel is perfectly located, has very friendly staff and a lovely view over the Bospurus from its breakfast room, the rooms leave a lot to be desired. I had a small room on the ground floor, which was dark and gloomy as its only window faced a dark alleyway. It seemed clean but the room and the...

We enjoyed our stay at the Mevlana hotel. The location was so convenient to the major sights and restaurants. Staff, were all friendly and helpful and happy to share their local knowledge. Breakfasts were adequate and it was a bonus having the breakfast overlooking the city.Bedrooms and bathrooms are small, but lovely and clean and serviced daily.

Mevlana Hotel is perfectly located in the Old City Area, just 2 minutes away from Ayasofya and Blue Mosque, by walk. The Topkapı Palace can be reached in 5 minutes also by walk. The hotel has the unique Turkish style and seems a little too old, but cozy and clean. The service quality is good, staff very polite and helpful....

We stayed for 5 nights in early October. Please do not take serious their most important key promotional sentence which is: "Don’t worry, we haven’t taken any payment as you’ll pay the hotel directly in their local currency, along with any additional charges and fees incurred during your stay." And elsewhere on the booking confirmation page that says: "Your booking...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
