Urban Suites was a small boutique hotel of seven rooms located in the bohemian Cihangir district from where you could reach Taksim Square in 5 minutes and the old town in 20 minutes by walk. The hotel entrance was small. The reception area was in the basement floor and it was very small too. I had to wait 10 minutes...

We spent just one night in a deluxe suite. It was very a very charming apartment with a great view from the rooftop terrace. Very clean and comfortable. Mr. Kaan was especially helpful. He helped us locate restaurants and taxis. We had a slight mishap with the washing machine. He immediately got it taken care of and finished our laundry...

My friends and I stayed at the 3 bedroom apartment in Taxim area and the place is so beautiful!! It's well maintained and the apartment was designed well and very functional. The only draw back was the apartment was located on the 3rd floor and there is NO elevator, so if you don't want to climb three flights of stairs-...

I visited Istanbul for 10 days last February, stayed at this marvelous place. 1st off, this place is located in the middle of one of the interesting neighborhoods of Istanbul, the area is very young, vibrant and Bohemian in some way, filed with coffee shops, antique stores and art galleries. Its only 10 minutes walk from Taksim and Istiklal, making...

This apartment (we had one with its own balcony) has a wonderful view, is tastefully furnished, intelligently serviced and equipped for basic breakfast or snack preparation. It is a few blocks from Taksim square and a short walk to any number of restaurants. The rooftop terrace is spectacular and the management is extremely friendly and helpful. A really wonderful stay.

Had a great time here. Our group had 3 rooms (6, 4 and 2) and they were all lovely. The balcony on room 6 is cute. It felt really great to stay in a neighbourhood rather than the hubhub over at Sultanahmet. There's noise from the park below but hey it's Istanbul, there's noise everywhere. The hotel surprised me with...

Had a great stay in this hotel to kick off our travels. Very quiet area, solid sound-proofing, and well-appointed rooms. The water pressures is on point, and the receptionist was very helpful in reserving us dinner spots at the best restaurants in town. Really wonderful stay. We got the economy room, so only one tiny window that faced into a...

This hotel is definitely a hidden gem around the Taksim area. The hotel sign is small and easy to miss but I guess the best landmark is the small park (looks like a dog park to me) opposite of it. ***the hotel name "Urban Suites" can be found at canopy, it is written in white. The location is pretty good...

After a late night arrival, the very kind staff of the hotel were already awaitung us. The hotel had everything we could wish for; very clean, comfortable beds, hair dryer and a nice shower are just some of the features. The location is also great, walking distance from Taksim square, Galata tower and if you like to take a walk,...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
