My first experience of Istanbul and Turkish culture was absolutely amazing, and Hamdi & staff are a big reason for that: they're extremely hospitable, and will go out of their way to accommodate you. We arrived with tonnes of luggage but they made our lives much easier. The breakfast had some of the freshest and tastiest foods I've tried here,...

I had the chance to stay here for a couple of days and they attended to every need. ncluding my request for gluten free bread. The hotel is within minutes from the Aya Sofia. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the breakfast is healthy. I would definitely recommended and will consider coming back again.

Small boutique hotel with a rich heart. One of the most hospitable hotels i've visited. The room was fantastic and for the price it's a steal. Comfortable bed and well designed room. The breakfast was plentiful and when Hamdi was around I found myself eating more than my fill. I've never met someone who was more welcoming than Hamdi at...

It was a really nice experience. The hotel is very close to Sultan Ahmet mosque and the main attractions. The room was clean and very nice with a wonderful view. The breakfast was a really good surprise, with many tasty choices. The staff were friendly, and very helpful. All over a really wonderful hotel.

Located in a heart of Istanbul, just few minutes away from Blue Mosque it was a perfect place for us to stay during our first trip to Istanbul. The personnel was very kind and ready to help. I would definetely recommend this hotel to my friends and other people planning to go to Istanbul.

This hotel was very closed to the Sultanahmet square, close to tour bus and main attractions. We walked to the grand bazaar from here. We stayed here for a night and the staff was very accommodating, gave us a room upgrade and organized a very cheap airport transfer. It was perfect!

To be quick about this one ... We stayed one night and I do not recommend for more than 2-3 nights. We were disappointed that the rooms were not as we've seen in the travelers photos. I think that even the furniture looked quite new , it was quickly deteriorated. We had to change the first room from the first...

We stayed in Katelya Hotel for 4 nights. The location is great since it is walking distance to all the sights. The room is exactly what it looks like in the pictures and the added bonus that we did not know when booking with Hotels.com, is the free Turkish breakfast every morning. The staff are all excellent, even the cook...

We only had a one night stopover in Istanbul and I am very sad we couldn't see more of this beautiful city! This hotel was a great pick though, it was located right next to everything we wanted to squeeze into our 24 hours visit! Friendly owner helped us with everything we needed and even upgraded our room for free!...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
