This was a very nice hotel, modern with high security. You must go thru a metal detector as you enter the hotel. I felt very safe. it is located on a side street away from the downtown area but within walking distance of a 6 story mall! For those on tight budget fast food restaurants and grocery stores are directly...

We stayed a week for a wedding, and since day one we're offered every little treats a visitor can get. The security is a little to much, the decoration overrated, but everything else is top of the line. We can only recommend this place as one of the best hotels in Istanbul!

Clean and average hotel. It can be a good choice with reasonable price in sisli area with friendly and funny staffs. It's near to Jewaher shopping mall, and Karakoy subway station about 10-15 minutes. We liked it and had good time there with my mom.

The Sürmeli Hotel is one of the older hotels in Istanbul. This was my first stay at this hotel and I found the rooms in particular showing excessive signs of age, not just in the dowdy looking furniture, but also the utilities. That’s probably why it is so cheap for a 5-star. I wouldn’t give it more than 3-stars by...

Staying in Sisli

Neighbourhood Profile
Sisli
For much of Istanbul’s history, Sisli and the area just north of Taksim Square were open countryside used mostly as hunting grounds. These days, Sisli and its chic streets are considered the very heart of contemporary Istanbuli life, where an epicenter of fashion and a thriving business district meet to create an expressly “downtown” feel. Though largely a residential neighborhood, luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and upscale shops abound with many of them situated inside or nearby Cevahir Istanbul, the biggest shopping mall in Europe and second biggest urban shopping mall in the world. Shopaholics and fashionistas travel from near and far to browse the area's mix of major global brand items and creations by popular Turkish designers.
