Rooms are small, very poor service & hygiene, rooms not tidied by the time we arrived back from the day out. I had to ask for replacement soaps, toilet paper and clean towels. None of the advertised activities and services were available e.g. inconsistent WiFi,...More
When you visit a city on the scale of Istanbul, how do you choose where to stay ? Not an easy one that, is it ? I searched for a long time to find an establishment which is: Representative of the local culture, not a...More
Perfect location with less than a 5 min walk to the main tourist attractions in the Old City. Rooms look beautiful but `the main attraction was the staff that go above and beyond to make your stay in the hotel and Istanbul as rewarding as...More
Perfect location. 5 minutes walk to major tourist attractions and restaurants. Clean hotel. Safe area. Very friendly staff who looked after our every request. We loved staying there and would love to go back one day.
We had an amazing stay at Arena Hotel. The location was right in the center of old town and all major attractions were within 5 minute walking distance. The staff was very nice and always willing to help plan our itinerary. Thank you for an...More
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to
retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

Sorry about delay in finding your question. There was no sign of any swimming pool at the Arena but they claim to have a haman (Turkish Bath ) and I did see a lady in a white coat who would seem to be the attendant... More

Swimming pools do not seem to be high on the list of facilities in the sultanamet area, I only saw one on the roof of an up-market hotel. This property prides itself on being OLD, I don't doubt that it is on the site of the old family property but the info in the lobby states that a lot of work was done and it would appear to be a major reconstruction. But there is no space for a pool, the "garden" is a courtyard - with tables and chairs.
One good thing which I failed to mention in my review, our room had a comprehensive adaptor plug in the bedside table so one could plug in and charge without searching for a suitable adaptor.
