The Dersaadet Hotel in Istanbul, Turkey was wonderful on many levels. The location was superb as we wanted to walk to many locations in the district and were easily able to do this. The Dersaadet Hotel Staff we're all incredibly warm and friendly and very helpful to us. They helped us arrange a trip on the Bosphorous. They have staff...

My wife and I and her sister and cousin had 2 days to spend in Istanbul after touring their wonderful country for 2 weeks in May and June 2011. We could not have picked a better place to stay than the Hotel Dersaadet. The owner Deniz greeted us on our first day and helped us arrange a boat trip up...

This hotel has all of the charm and quirks of a bed and breakfast. If you are looking for something of the Four Seasons experience, then please look elsewhere. If you would like to feel welcome, appreciated and addressed by name as well as have a glorious breakfast listening to the seagulls while trying to decide where to focus your...

Dersaadet is in the old city where most of the sites are and a quick walk to all of them. The hotel is decorated in an antique style that is very quaint and charming. The bathroom is modern with excellent pressure showers. Friendly staff and breakfast on the roof is spectacular. Remember, you get 10% off if you pay for...

We have just returned from a trip to Istanbul and had a great stay in the Dersaadet hotel. The staff made us feel extremly welcome from the moment we arrived, giving us maps and a useful orientation to the city and continued to be very helpful throughout the stay. The rooftop terrace with a view of the sea and the...

I appreciated the friendly staff and the numerous small details that give this place a soul as compared to standardized hotels. In addition, the location is convenient, right to the sultanahmet district.

Clean rooms and friendly service. The hotel is a short walk from the "Blue" mosque and Topkapi. Airport pickup was convenient and competitively-priced. Free if you stay a certain number of nights (3 or 4, I think). Bathroom was in marble and nice. This was the basement room with a Turkish bath. The disadvantage is that the windows are at...

The hotel is in a quiet place, in the neighourhood of the Blue Moschee, the Hagia Sophia and the Big Basar. The staff is very friendly and the room cosy and clean. In my room there was a "Turquish Bath" with oriental ornaments, the shower there was an unique pleasure.

My husband and I chose the Dersaadet based on reviews on Tripadvisor. A major draw is the airport pickup. We arrived in Istanbul after a trip of almost 24 hours, waited in line at immigration and customs, and were worried no one would be standing outside with a sign holding our name. Not to worry, a driver was waiting for...

The breakfast on top floor was delicious and what a view...Personalized service was greatly appreciated - i.e. help booking a Bosphorus tour.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
