The staff at Dersaadet provided for a very welcoming and warm stay. The rooms were well furnished (though the bathroom in the double room was a bit tiny). Breakfast on the roof terrace was a lovely experience as it had breathtaking views of the ocean and the blue mosque. The rates for the hotel were very reasonable and I would...

The staff is really friendly and makes sure you have what you need! Our room was very nice and very clean. The terrace where people have their breakfast is beautiful. If you want to stay in Sultanahmet, this is a great place to go to. Enjoy!

There was a fantastically warm reception at this friendly hotel. Great views from the bar terrace. Fresh orange juice at breakfast would lmprove what it is already a good spread. Comfortable room although the bathroom was a little cramped. Very convenient for the sights.

We and a group of friends stayed here in the heart of Sultanamet for 3 nights. We were greeted by Gozde who instantly made us feel at home. Whilst we had a welcoming cup of apple tea, she gave us tips and advice on what to see and do in Istanbul. Our rooms were traditionally decorated. Bathrooms clean and modern....

My wife and I have been going to Dersaadet since 2008 after a friend read about it and recommend it to us. Now the Hotel staff are less like staff and more like our family friends. This is a wonderful hotel. The best or the very best in the area. 5 star hospitality at cheerful prices. It is quite popular...

The Dersaadet Hotel turned out to be the delight we truted (Trust trip advisor we say) it would be based on the reviews here on Trip Advisor. We booked the Sultan's Suite for three nights and the extra cost was well worth it...the room was very large by any standard, the bathroom modern and convienient, the bed large and comfortable...

I had the pleasure of staying at Dersaadet hotel for a couple of nights. The best feature among many of this hotel was its location. Most of the Istanbul's "must-see" sights are in the walking distance and the rooftop terrace provides a great view of the blue mosque day and night. Breakfast is also served at this terrace with a...

We had planned to stay at this hotel Sept. 10 through the 13th. However, 4 days into our trip I broke my ankle and had to fly home for surgery. We were staying at this hotel with 3 other couples at the end of our 14 day trip. I had my friend cancel our room as soon as I broke...

We do understand that plans sometimes may change, reservations may have to be cancelled –often beyond control of the guest. We therefore do our best to communicate the cancellations and changes policy clearly. The reason that hotels have a cancellations and changes policy is mostly because of the alternative cost, the cost for not being able to sell a room,...

The location is very convenient for Haghia Sofia, the Blue Mosque and Topkapi all of which are within a short walk. We stayed in the Sultan's Suite which was huge and very beautifully furnished. The all round windows gave a wonderful view of the Sea of Marmara with its plentiful shipping and fishing boat traffic. Breakfast was on the top-floor...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
