The service was great like in a real hotel and half the price in fact there was no difference from a hotel. The staff is very polite and will answer any question about the city. Rooms are cozy and bathroom/toilet really clean. There is free wi-fi and the breakfast was awesome. The location is in the hip area of Karakoy...

Even if most of hotels, in the same location is over then hundred euros, we paid too less for the Portus House. But also we get the very well clean (thanks a lot to Julide),...

We had the best time of our lives here. Four friends we ventured to find the best spot in Istanbul and ohh, yes we did! The Portus is modern, comfortable, clean, housedby, super friendly people, especially Manager and night shift, obviously they care a lot about their guests. The breakfast was acceptable with good tea and coffee all day long...

Portus House is a real gem. We had the best welcome there that I can think of: very personal! The decor is beautiful and I love the coziness of the hotel near a real trendy area but far enough way to not be directly in the chaos. We opted for the room with our own bathroom and it was perfect....

This place/location/price was fantastic. The hotel staff was very kind and informative! The location is within walking distance of EVERYTHING! The price for what you get is great! THe room was a bit small but that is because we have three people in one room all with separate beds, but that is because we asked for that and they kindly...

Staying in Karakoy

Neighbourhood Profile
Karakoy
Sitting pretty with an age-old air about it, Karakoy is situated on the European side of the Bosphorus at the mouth of the Golden Horn. Perhaps the city’s most historically significant area, it’s currently one of the most happening parts of town as well. Here street vendors and alfresco fish restaurants line the banks of the Horn where the views of major attractions across the water rival Karakoy’s own key attractions, such as the iconic 14th century Galata Tower and the Museum of Modern Art. A major hub for local and international waterborne traffic, Istanbul’s commercial and maritime heritage remains as relevant and evident as ever in Karakoy. Commuter ferries mingle with luxury cruise liners at its busy port, ensuring a continuously cosmopolitan flow of people..
