It was such an amazing view from the roof top and such a pleasure to have tasty breakfast in the morning there with the nice breeze and the old town from one side and sea from the other!!! The hotel is so homey and cozy, clean and lovely, with welcoming and helpful staff. And in the heart of Sultanahmet. Very... More

We have stayed here several times when visiting Istanbul. It is in the heart of Sultanahmet and very close to Topkapi, The Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The staff has always been wonderful and helpful. Their breakfast is light but perfect. They have views of the Marmara Sea, Islands and the East side of Istanbul which is the Asian side.... More

It's quiet and comfortable hotel near SultanAhmet with sea view on the top terrace. Water is free even cold and hot water in reception, and breakfast is full of fruits as well as Kahvalt, turkish breakfast. It's good for taking a rest with quiet mood.

We came back to Istanbul after a three week journey through Turkey and Greece and stayed at Hotel Emre. The bed was so comfortable! What a good place to get a few days' rest before our long flight home! The rooms might be small but are impeccably detailed and decorated. We thought the bathroom was the best of any of... More

We were looking for good location, terrace with sea view and fair price. And with Emre hotel we are more than satisfied. Extremely good location in the very middle of Sultanahmet close to Akbiyik – touristic street where restaurants, cafes and shops are open over midnight. Yes, the hotel is small, and rooms are small, but very clean and well... More

We love this little hotel and have stayed here three times. Eight rooms on five floors. The staff is great and so helpful. Room 501 has a fabulous sea view, as does 401. 401 is quite small but has a balcony. All the rooms here are small but the location (right in the middle of Sultanhamet), the ameneties (hair dryer,... It's a small hotel - only 8 rooms I think, and rooms are also small! This should be a consideration if room size is important to you - but there is lots to see in Istanbul so how much time will be spent in your room? The higher floors - 401 and 501 would have good sea views - 301... More

The room was very tiny, but at 50 Euro for 2, including breakfast, it was a good bargain. It is just a few blocks from restaurants and all the sights. The staff was great. Hot showers, blow dryer, comfortable beds, working heater, balcony, shampoo, soap, towels, bottled water, quiet room, good security, and location make this a wonderful option to... More

Our original hotel, Alp, couldn't accommodate us for our whole stay, so we were told they would arrange for us to stay at their 'sister' hotel. There is NO similarity to these two establishments. As soon as you enter, you are faced by steep stairs posing the challenge of how will you drag your cases up? The reception is an... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
