We spent 4 nights at Sirma Sultan Hotel. We didn't spend much time at the hotel (only sleeping and showering) so the quality of the hotel didn't matter much to us. The rooms are really small and kind of shabby. So if you want to stay here with your family or on a really romantic weekend I would consider some...

Booked this hotel 6 months before travelling and requested a room NOT in the basement after having read bad reviews about those. We got there and of course they tried to assign exactly the room we didn’t want. Luckily we managed to get a room in another building on the second floor without lift. The room we got was small...

The service of especially Roberto was awesome. The hotel is situated amongts "local" businesses, which we injoyed. We became "locals" at the restaurant next door and was known by name after our 5 day stay. It's also within walking distance from all the major sites eg. The Blue Mosque, Haiga Sophia, etc. With the delay in our flight back from...

To put it very simply. Rooms at the upper floors are good value for money, but lower floors are terrible (mold, moist, no windows). Constant overbooking: i learned from the conversations between the staff, that every day they miss rooms for 2-3 quests and have to put them to another hotel or sometimes to rooms for hotel staff. Hotel staff...

Stayed in the annex block round the corner despite booking several months in advance and there being no indication of this when booking. View from the window was of a boiler and annex was very very noisy. Would not recommend.

I was a little skeptical for a minute, considering my taxi driver seemed to drive the same circle deep in the heart of a winding maze of a neighborhood. After sleeping off my jet lag and getting out on the town the first day, I fell in love with our little hotel! It's a 10 minute walk from the Hippodrome...

Pleasant hotel is only ten minutes walk from the main attractions of Istanbul. If you want to feel like full-fledged citizens of the ancient city - a place created for you. You'll fall asleep and wake up to the singing of the muezzin, the cries of seagulls and street vendors. You are waiting for a delicious breakfast overlooking the Bosphorus...

Booked this hotel because of the location and price. Cant complain about either one, everything was great. As said in other reviews, the hotels is about a 10 minute walk from the Sultanahmet area. Roberto is the nicest man in the world.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
