We stayed 4 nights during our honeymoon! We booked the romance package. First the transfer from airport to hotel worked perfectly. Arriving at the hotel staff was really friendly, they sat with us for 20 min explaining Istanbul highlights! The bedroom really nice, and the terrace also nice with a great view to marmara sea! We booked everything with them:...

We stayed three nights at Amira. The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Istanbul. Everyone at the hotel bends backwards for you to be happy. I made a comment to the waiter during breakfast that it was chilly the night before, before I could finish breakfast, there was someone regulating my heater! I asked the front desk about...

Everyone at hotel Amira was incredibly helpful, friendly, and genuinely seemed to want to make our stay as enjoyable as it could be. We couldn't have asked for better service. Our room was lovely, the breakfast was more than plentiful, and afternoon tea was served everyday. There was free wifi which was a bonus. The roof terrace was a real...

Although it is sometimes easier to get great service from a small family run hotel, it has never been my experience to have such amazing service from a larger hotel. This hotel is fantastic. The location is superb, it is minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and all of the other sites in the Old City. The room we stayed...

Take care do not stay in the rooms in the basement. I was given a corner room in in the basement. A great room but compromised view. You have cars parked in front of the window and you cant see anything. Room was very comfortable with good furnishings. Great area to be in. Breakfast was extraordinary. Staff very friendly and...

Stayed for two nights in April 2014, and everything about our stay was great. The breakfast was acceptable (breakfast in Turkey is much different from in the US, but I still liked it), the room was clean, and we had no complaints. The hotel staff was very accommodating in finding us taxis (as well as providing directions to taxi drivers...

We had a really nice stay in a suite at Hotel Amira. The suite had a balcony with a great view. We booked the romance package which included wine, chocolate fondu and rose petals on the bed. Also included early check-in and airport transfer which were very handy. The breakfast selection is very good, lots of breads, jams, fruit, yoghurt,...

I cannot praise this Hotel any more highly. It is well presented, rooms are decorated to a high standard and the staff offer excellent service. So what you may think, thousands of Hotels are like this. So, the reasons: 1. when we arrived the manager gave us a drink and spent 45 minutes explaining the sites and benefits of Istanbul...

We had a very enjoyable 8 nights in the Hotel Amira. This family owned hotel, which is just four years old, is actually two former residential buildings which have been cleverly joined together under one roof with a spiral staircase linking the two buildings. There is a lift, but only in one building, so to get from the lift on...

The proximity of this hotel for general sightseeing can hardly be bettered. From the time of arrival the immediate welcome and induction session truly set us off on a magnificant short break. A very comfortable and clean room with regular supply of fresh towels and toiletries and bottled water was much appreciated. An excellent and varied inclusive breakfast was plentiful...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
