My husband and I stayed at the Ferman hotel for 4 nights and we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was clean, in an excellent location, close to restaurants, shopping, and the main sites, including blue mosque and haghia sophie. The staff were extremely respectful and nice. Breakfast was included in our stay and we also thoroughly enjoyed that... cheese,...

My first impression of Istanbul was a car ride from the airport through the beautiful city and arrival at a very nice hotel where we were greeted by a friendly staff, so I felt in love with Istanbul from the first sight!  The hotel is located in a great and certainly convenient touristic area – all the main attractions...

We had a great couple of days at the Ferman. The staff are the friendliest you could ask for. Room comfortable, clean and with lovely views. We even had a free glass of bubbly on new years eve. turkish delight and pastries available free of charge in the lobby every day and within 5 mins of the blue mosque, aya...

The hotel is in the heart of the Sulthamet District - we could see the minarets of the Blue Mosque from our balcony. It's new with very nice decor. The room was small but very comfortable. Staff was very young, upbeat, and solicitous, but no one knew much English or much about touring Istanbul. Problems were small ; they never...

The ferman hotel is conveniently located in the Sultanhamed district, in walking distance to most sights (the blue mosque, hagia sophia and the sunken palace). Taksim area (where Istanbul's night life is happening) can be reached by tramvay and "funikulär" in about 20 minutes, or by taxi (~12 TL). Since we wanted to do some of the mandatory sightseeing, but...

We arrived at the Ferman Hotel and were greeted by the friendly staff who were happy to give us recommendations of eating places and what to visit on our short stay. Our room was lovely, the decor tastefully done and room size was good. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the street which was a nice feature. The Hotel...

Staff were welcoming and helpful in providing information on sights and recommending trips. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a very efficient heating system. It overlooked the railway line, but the trains stopped overnight and we didn't find this a problem. The location is in a tourist area, close to the major sights. The transfer back to the airport...

A very neat hotel. Service staff are all very warm and caring. Our stay was really enjoyable, starting the day with a good spread of breakfast delights with the staff occasionally giving us ideas on where to visit. The roof terrace is very scenic but due to Winter, our breakfast was at the lower basement but this was fine with...

We chose the Ferman Hotel because of its price and location, and reviews here. After an initial hiccup when we arrived, we were given an excellent room, with outstanding views of the Blue Mosque and the Aya Sofia. I mention this because it was typical of the effort the staff made throughout our visit to make us happy. A digression...

Agonised for ages about whether to book this hotel as there are so many others to choose from but it lived up to it's Trip Advisor rating. We upgraded to a junior suite which was a good size and very lavishly decorated. The staff were all very helpful and friendly - as other people have said nothing is too much...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
