First we were given a room with an old bathroom (which looked like it hadn't been cleaned) and the window opened onto a wall. After complaining, they changed us the next day to a better room overlooking the pool. There were no teamaking facilities as advertised, and no pool towels. Breakfast was ok if you are Turkish (!), but European...

Stayed at this hotel because my tour started here. Room would have been acceptable for price paid, except that i could not sleep for the noise from the aircon. Tried switching it off, but woke two hours later from the heat. At checkin, was not given wifi password, or details of where the included breakfast was, or what time. Would...

We stayed in this hotel on our Turkey trip. it's a budget hotel but the rooms are clean, well serviced and the breakfast is great. Make sure you go outside and check out the view in the morning over the mosque. The Hotel is close enough to transport Metro and Tram (although you need a good set of instructions to...

We have stayed twice at this hotel over the last week. Great little hotel which is close to Grand Bazaar (10 minute walk). Wifi does drop in and out. Twenty minute walk to Sultanahmet area. If you wanted something right in Sultanahmet area I would look for something closer. We stayed here as our tour started from here. Rooms very...

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighbourhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighbourhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
