Tomtom Suites, The Old Franciscan House is an authentic Istanbul building whose posture reflects the social history of Pera from 1850’s to recent. Throughout its history, this building was home for French nuns and some well-known Levantine families. Now it is ready to host its new guests with its "unique" service policy and a new design, pairing modern comfort with historical background. Tomtom Suites, The Old Franciscan House has 20 suites, a terrace offering a panoramic view of old town and a nostalgic outlook. It tells the story of an over 100 years old building with a stylish language, but without loosing the essence of the story.

Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.

TomTom Suites is absolutely stunning. The rooms are spacious and the view from the breakfast restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Opposite the hotel is the Italian Consulate and there are other consulates nearby. It is also located on a hilly road giving residents the vantage

Our family stayed 8 nights at this hotel. Excellent hospitality! We chose deluxe rooms, which were definitely worth the extra expense. They were (truly) huge, very comfortable, and tastefully appointed. The street is quiet, but there are many cafes, restaurants and nice

I had stayed at Tomtom on my first trip to Istanbul 4 years ago and decided to stay there again this time during my layover in Istanbul because I liked it so much - particularly the spacious rooms and well-placed location (short walk to Istikal and the waterside). Coincidentally

Tom Tom Suites is a wonderful hotel. I would absolutely stay at it every time I visit Istanbul, as well as recommend it to close friends and family. It is much better than the generic chain 5 star hotels in Istanbul, especially if you are planning a stay for more more than 2

A/C was not working out of season but should be fine when it is warm again. Area is up and coming but safe. In terms of transportation, the hotel is on a private road but it is easy to walk to the rest of the neighborhood. Also, you can walk down to the tram at Tophane. All in all, you should be fine but..I would rather look into staying in Sirkeci Mansion — not quite as hip but friendlier, better located, with excellent facilities including pool and hammam.

Hi, congratulations on your marriage. Yes, the hotel is fully air conditioned. The hotel used to be an old foreign consulate and is directly opposite the Italian consulate so no cars can get into the street due to bollards and guards. It is extremely quiet at the hotel due to this. So it is definately safe. The area is a regeneration area so is a mix of new cosmopolitan and old Turkey. The hotel is built in the middle of a hill leading directly up to the main shopping area or down to the Bosporus. We loved it, the metro is about a 10 -15 minutes walk, however if coming home later in the evening, taxis were very reasonable.

The hotel is on the same street as the Italian embassy. It was safe and quiet. However, the road can be blocked off at both ends. We had to carry our luggage and walk to the hotel our first night. We had arrived very late. It was not a problem after that. It was an easy walk to public transportation, which we used. I don't remember seeing a lot of stray animals. The sidewalks were uneven in areas but the neighborhood felt very safe, you just had to watch your step.
