Stayed 4 nights after a Turkey tour, and 2 nights in were asked to move to another hotel even though we had booked a suite months ahead. Apparently overbooked and they decided we were the only ones who could move. We were not happy about this and ended up after much stuffing around moving to a much smaller room with...

Good value Hotel in a nice area near the Blue Mosque and other cultural attractions. Hotel suite clean and comfortable although a lot of stairs to the top floor where we were situated. Turkish breakfast good and staff very helpful. Yes the call to prayer is quite loud and for those who complain about this whilst staying anywhere in Turkey...

I stayed in Istanbul for a couple of nights and I struck gold with Anatolia Suites for its location, quite unexpectedly. You hear of places being 'within walking distance' but you always take it with a grain of salt. I stayed in a room on the top floor and as I walked out to the hotel terrace and turned around,...

I chose Anatolia Suites for our 3rd stay in Istanbul as we were ready for a little more independence and autonomy this time. The location is spot on - a very short walk from Arasta Carsisi and Sultanahmet Camii in one direction, Kucuk Aya Sofya in another, or Akbiyik Caddesi if you take a left and follow the back streets....

We had the 'Assos' room, which was on the top floor..which is a long way up. We were picked up by the hotel from the airport which was a good service. The room (a small lounge that had a double sofa bed and a twn room bedroom that adjoined) was OK. It was clean, but all it had was a...

I traveled with my sister and brother in law to Istanbul in early June. Before leaving the United States I researched available hotels and suites in the Sultanahmet area because we wanted to be close to all the historic sites. I chose Anatolia Suites because of one review about its cleanliness and hospitable staff. Well, I should say that I...

Travelling with two kids, I was more than happy to stay in Anatolia suits, not only for the great location, but also for efficient, friendly and welcoming staff. quiet neighborhood, 10 minutes walk to many historic sites in Sultanahmet, close to shops, bazaar, seaside, and transport facilities. Simple and neat. View to Marmara sea from the terrace. M.Brandt

I had wanted to go to Turkey and especially Istanbul for a long time and I wasnt sure about where to stay. I was looking more for an authentic experience rather than a usual hotel stay and I came across Anatolia Suites website, and each suite is a 1 bdr room apt (bigger then my NYC studio!)- one of them...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

“If you go outside for shopping in the small shop, be aware that the prices to tourist are ALWAYS higher. What you certainly have to do is: bid half price in Turkish Lira. It is very normal, nothing to be ashamed of. At the end of your trip, you will have spent just half of your money ;-)”
