My vacation in Turkey ended in Istanbul at the Witt Istanbul Suite. What a great way to round up a most pleasant holiday. The modern & tasteful decor welcomes the traveller as on steps through the door. Travel guides, novels and books on designs lined book shelves in the lounge area. That to me is most inviting indeed. A Mac...

The following things have made our stay in the Witt Istanbul Hotel unforgettable: The location: A short stroll uphill leads to the Taksim Sqare, wheras a short walk downhill from the hotel the "Tophane" tram stop is located. From there the most famous sights of Istanbul can easily be reached. At the same time, the hotel is located in a...

There really isn't any need for me to write about the staff; everyone says they are superb - and they are. But more than that, they make the hotel what it is. The hotel itself is modern and swanky, but not too pretentious - enough of little touches here and there for it to be a comfortable (albeit luxurious) home...

We've just returned from a 3 night stay at the Witt. We were given room 42 which was a corner room with a great view of the Bosphorus and the domes and minarets of the skyline of old-istanbul. The room was great, huge and very design-led. We loved the stylish shower room, generous molton brown products and the enormous bed!...

The Witt is a spectacular, quite corner of Istanbul that graciously and effortlessly welcomes her guests and sees to every detail with a nuanced and careful eye. From the sophisticated and elegant lobby, the welcome from a staff of professional, to the suite's careful appointments. The location is IDEAL. A quick walk to Taxim Square and an equally lovely walk...

I just returned from a 3-day stay at the Witt and have nothing but superlativs to describe the experience. The Witt offers elegant accommodations in its spacious suites along with first-rate service by a competent and friendly staff. The top floors offer fabulous views of the old city and the Bosporus. The location in the up-and-coming Cihangir area is off...

We have spent 4 days in Witt and this was really very good experience. At the beginning we have got our room upgraded to the penthouse suite on the top floor which was a good beginning of our stay. The view on Bosphorus and the city is simply unforgettable. The good things are as follows: Staff - simply excellent service....

My husband and I stayed at the Witt Istanbul Suites at the beginning of our travels along the coast and islands of Turkey and Greece. We weren't sure what to expect, had never travelled to Turkey before, and we found the hotel staff and rooms to be excellent. Everything was well taken care of, very modern, welcoming, and it was...

Witt ticks all the boxes of the perfect boutique hotel. Located in an area frequented by the locals, the Witt takes you away from the touristy hussle and bustle which we dont like and immerses you in a part of real Istanbul, where people that work there live and go about their lives. Walking distance from main shopping streets, some...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Witt Istanbul Suites has an excellent location within walking distance from Istanbul's business district, Istanbul Modern museum and the buzzing bars and boutiques of both Beyoglu and Cihangir. All 15 suites span a generous 60m2. They are popular for long-stay guests as each has a Carrera marble-clad kitchenette with microwave, fridge and Nespresso machine. The super-cool beds with curved headboards and the laptop desks have been especially designed for Witt Istanbul Suites by Autoban. Sheets and towels were also commissioned from Denizli, a famous purveyor of Turkish linen. Cable TV, an excellent DVD collection, ipod docks and a welcome gift of multi-coloured macaroons are indulgent touches. But it's the bathrooms that make these suites really special. The ergonomic Corian sinks with pebble-shaped handles and the cluster of shower-heads that create a cocoon of misty hot water are all from designer Ross Lovegrove's Istanbul collection from Vitra. ... more   less
