The hotel has a great location, in the hearth of the Sultanahmet district. All the important monuments /sights are in walking distance. The staff is friendly, helpful. The room was ok, more than enough for us (2 adults+baby) The breakfast is not the best. I think in a 4 star hotel it should be a bit bigger selection and better...

I chose this because of Trip Advisor. My comments to the hotel were that it lived up to all the reviews. The location is perfect, two/three minutes to Sultanahmet Square. My Deluxe Room had panorama view of the Bosphorus, Topkapi Palace, and Aya Sofia - worth paying for. The room was small (typical inner city hotel), but had 7 big...

Great neighbourhood for the hotel, so easy to access the trams or walk from here with loads of attractions to visit on the doorstep. Our twin bedded room was on the 5th floor, so no noise issues and it had an amazing view. The size was larger than I had expected from the other reviews & more than adequate for...

In this modern hotel with its very friendly stuff no desire won't be fulfilled. You can reach all the popular points of interestby foot within minutes. The view from the restaurant an the roof terrace is awesome. Every hotel could be happy to have a Mehmet (Memo) in its crew. We had an unforgettable week there, it is sure that...

A very nice location in the heart of Istanbul. Modern rooms, very friendly staff, especially Memo who solved every problem. The restaurant and the roof terrace offer a fantastic view over the city. Our room was a little bit small, but we had no need to stay in it apart from sleeping. Because of the reason that the hotel is...

Already upon arrival, we were very positively impressed with the competence and friendlyness of Mehmet, the receptionist on night duty. Due to a very late arrival we then enjoyed the marvellous view of the illuminated Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sofia and the TopKapi palace, which are literally in walking distance from the roof top restaurant level. The location is excellent,...

What a gem this hotel is and a great location with Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia right on the doorstep. Hotel staff, especially Mehmet, were very helpful and nothing too much trouble. Modern rooms, excellent breakfast and the roof top terrace offered fantastic views - would definately book there again.

Difficult to find any fault with the Adamar, staff (particularly Mehmet) who couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable, unbeatable views from the rooftop terrace, very comfortable and clean room, good breakfast and a location that couldn't be more central for both sightseeing and eating. Only downside was the traffic noise from the busy street outside, which was only...

Fantastic Hotel with main tourist attractions on its doorstep. Lovely clean hotel and the staff were so helpful. The panoramic rooftop restaurant has the best views in Instanbul. Nice safe area to wander around in the evening with many excellent restaurants on the door step. Try the Turkish baths in the same street.

The Adamar is the perfect place to stay in Istanbul. Centrally located in the historic district, one can see St. Sofia's and the sea from the room 402 window. The hotel has a 6th floor restaurant with a panoramic view of the city, as well as an open air level. A Turkish bath is a MUST only 2 blocks away...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
