Stayed for 3 nights in February on a city-break with the family & friends. The huge plus for the Adamar is the location, as it is staggering distance to the main Sultanahmet sites; Topkapi, Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque and a relatively short walk to shops, the Grand & Spice Bazaars, Galati Bridge & other sites, although be warned that these...

The corner building of Adamar is unusually high for this part of Istanbul, which reasonably means greatest views simultaneously from Bosphorus & Marmara. Through a spiral staircase up (it's more enjoyable than the elevator, each floor is in different style and colour) is reachable the restaurant on the top. By reaching it, you need several minutes to look around to...

We stayed at the hotel in Octomer 2011 with my friends. It was not my first visit to Istanbul, but for sure Adamar was the best hotel I've ever stayed at in Istanbul! The view from terrace at the breakfast is breathtaking! The location is excellent! Walking distance to all sightseeing in Sultanahmet! The hotel is highly recomended!

dates 2.01.12-7.01.12. The hotel was chosen thanks to its great location and a number of good recommendations found in Internet. I booked the room in a hurry and didn't read carefully the description of all rooms, probably I would have tried to book a bigger one, because ours was a bit smaller than we had expected. But it wasn't a...

We stayed here mid December for 3 nights. The hotel was welcoming, clean , comfortable and convenient for all the Old City sights. Roof top and restauraunt views of the Hagia Sophia, Blue mosque and the Golden Horn, (wrong weather for blistering sunsets).. Breakfast range of juices, cereals, cheeses, dried fruits, olives and turkish pastries. Small hot food selection, omelettes...

We used this hotel as a base to explore the city. The staff were very helpful and even though the room was small it was very clean and had all you needed provided you are not looking for luxury. Spectacular views from the roof garden and resturant.

We had never been to Istanbul before and you know how the internet is - not everything looks like the picture and my husband is very distrustful - but this is indeed a very charming hotel. It looks like the pictures, the staff is extremely helpful and very nice. The rooms are small but it doesn't matter because they are...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
