The Adamar is in the best position to visit the Ayasofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern. All very interesting and not to be missed. The food in the restaurant is mainly Turkish, which is usually very spicy and quite expensive. The view from the rooftop restaurant completely makes up for the food. It's unforgetable. The best rooms are the...

We booked the Adamer hotel for our visit to Turkey, the hotel had great reviews hence this made our decision to book relatively easy. Prior to arriving Turkey, I emailed the hotel a number of times to enquire about the rooms, asking if we can have the whole to booking tours. Halil who responded to my emails was very helpful...

I found the staff of the hotel to go above and beyond what is required. I can personally vouch for Halil Ibrahim who always greets with a smile and daily advised me about the do's and don'ts for tourists visiting Istanbul - where to get the best bargains, what attraction sites to visit without it costing an exorbitant sum and...

This was my 2nd time visiting Istanbul and I once again decided to stay in the Sultanahmed area. My family and I travelled to several countries and used Istanbul as our homebase to come back to between trips. We booked 2 rooms at Adamar Hotel and I can honestly say this was the best decision we could have made. We...

You should not miss the views from the rooftop restaurant. It's simply stunning. Food is average for Istanbul, nice big portions but the view is what will make you remember it. Seagulls flying all around together with 360 degrees panorama of old Sultanahmet city and entire bosphorus and Istanbul. Not to be missed. Hotel is a small lovely hotel in...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
