Detailed Reviews
My husband and I spent 2 nights at the beautiful Maniumpathy Hotel- post covid- and received the most wonderful care by all members of staff from the time we arrived and throughout our stay.
Being pregnant, I needed somewhere safe to unwind, and the health and safety regulations followed by the hotel and all staff members made us feel so much at ease.
They ensured anyone who entered the property was appropriate vetted and was committed to maintaining this high standard throughout their service and day to day routine.
Every meal was prepared safely and lovingly with great attention to detail and we were also given the opportunity to dine in on our own private balcony away from everyone, which was a really lovely romantic space.
We came away from Maniumpathy feeling refreshed and relaxed and would recommend it to anyone who might want to take a break and enjoy some quiet time in a beautiful and unique environment.

Maniumpathy is a fabulous base for exploring Colombo. Located in a historic heritage home in the elegant Cinnamon Gardens district, the hotel has lovely rooms and suites featuring an attractive colonial style decor, family heirlooms, antiques and excellent modern amenities. The suites have nice sitting areas and private balcony areas or quiet back garden terraces. My suite had a huge bathroom with a large shower and a claw foot soaking tub. There is also a lovely shared pool in the garden, on the other side is the restaurant, beautifully lit in the evening. The cuisine is refined, delicious and has both international and local specialities. The hotel is very peaceful, away from the hubbub and traffic, yet only a short drive away from shops and sites. I hope to return!

We stayed here for two nights at the end of our 18 day tour to explore Colombo. Maniumpathy provided a much needed haven at the end of busy days in the city.
We enjoyed the pool at the end of each day and our room offered us the comfort that we needed.
The service from the staff was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The food was also excellent with expansive breakfasts to set us up for our city exploration. We ate lunch one day and dinner on the other, each time the food was well presented and full of well balanced flavours.
Maniumpathy is a great place from which to base yourself for the exertions of Colombo.

This suites-only gracious heritage boutique hotel is centrally located in the affluent Cinnamon Gardens area of Colombo. Originally an early 1800s traditional home for a wealthy family it is designed around a beautiful courtyard. Maniumpathy is immaculate in every sense; a heritage delight and architecturally rich, the professional friendly staff always on hand to assist, beautifully appointed luxurious rooms, and a very talented chef who offers amazing local cuisine (our traditional breakfast of hoppers with Seer fish curry was a ‘flavour bomb’ according to our daughter). I highly recommend staying at the glorious Maniumpathy Hotel it surpassed every expectation.

We booked the Ranee suite and it was a great room - on top floor with large balcony, large room and bathroom. The decor was very nice and had charm. The bedding was very comfortable and shower was good, aircon worked well. The place was very quiet except when they are having functions, but they finished at a reasonable hour. The breakfast was nice in courtyard area with a lot of options to choose from and cooked to order which is good. The location was pretty good as it is very easy to get around by tuk tuk and we didn't want to stay where all the big hotels are. There are plenty of cafes around that are walkable from hotel. There was an open window in bathroom which really should be covered by a flyscreen but there didn't appear to be mosquitos so it was OK. The wifi worked well. We would definitely consider staying here again if in Colombo as it was in a quiet area, with an intimate feel and nice building and very comfortable room. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel should provide menus in the rooms for drinks and lunch and dinner and information about laundry and other facilities/services so that one knows without needing to ask.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Colombo. Just walking into the lobby made you feel calm and serene. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The rooms are wonderfully comfortable but also have personality with heritage pieces from the family that owned the property. When we had a problem in our original room, the staff upgraded us to suite and moved all our luggage for us. The food is excellent - we loved our crab and fish thalis and the Sri Lankan breakfast complete with hoppers was delicious. Cannot recommend highly enough!

This boutique hotel was a real oasis in the heart of Colombo. The friendly and approachable staff made us feel at home in the stylish surroundings, and our rooms were huge and luxuriously furnished. The food was absolutely delicious and always beautifully presented. We also arranged to have two celebratory family gatherings during our stay; one a high tea in the Cigar Room and the other a buffet dinner for 25 guests in the Veranda. Both occasions couldn't have gone better, as the food and service were outstanding, and the staff obliging. We were made to feel very special.
The only drawback for us was a faulty air conditioning unit, as we struggled with the heat, having just arrived from the UK. However, the staff worked hard to fix it and gave us extra fans and even offered us another room, so they did everything they possibly could to remedy the situation. We trust this will have been sorted in time for the next guests.
We hope one day to return...

Maniumpathy is located in the heart of Colombo city offering a peaceful and luxurious experience to its guest. From the time you step in, you’re surrounded by stunning architecture and lush greenery. The hotel has eight rooms, each of which is uniquely designed with the perfect blend of modern and traditional charm. We stayed in one of their spacious and well appointed suites. The bathroom was huge, with two separate washbasins and counters. The attention to detail was impeccable and evident everywhere. From the subtle fragrances used in their bath and body products which heighten your senses, to the beautiful little garden in the back teaming with tropical plants. The rooms open up into the common courtyard boasting of a beautiful outdoor pool, surrounded by greenery and loungers. It is the perfect spot to relax and unwind. You can also enjoy a delicious breakfast or meal at the garden tables while soaking in the peaceful surroundings in the courtyard. The breakfast was customised to our liking every morning and was delicious. The team is warm, welcoming, and always go above and beyond to ensure that your stay is comfortable and memorable. You can easily walk around the area or find a cab/tuk tuk and explore some good local restaurants, beautiful architecture and temples. Overall, if you are looking for a beautiful and luxurious hotel in Colombo, Maniumpathy is an excellent choice.

I had a wedding function for my daughter for 80 guests at MANIUMPATHY during one of the most difficult periods of the year which was 15th April.
It’s a beautiful venue for a small function and a lovely place for a evening function.
The hotel management is very kind and very flexible and accommodated lot of our last minute requests.
On top of all that the main attraction was their food. Every one who came for our function still talks about the tasty Jaffna curries.
Only negative I would like to comment is the parking space which is only enough for about 5-6 vehicles.
All in all it is a great place with very nice staff and I am sure you will like to have a go at their food.
