Detailed Reviews
I had stayed in this hotel for two nights on a family vacation trip. The location of hotel is simply marvellous. Situated on the sea shore, the rooms provide magnificent view of the ocean waters right outside. Staff is very courteous. The variety of food served in the restaurant is splendid. The welcome area and the reception are really grand! While the services and location are second to none, the age of the hotel was pretty much evident from the blackened and cracked walls of swimming pool, old bell type lifts, inefficient cooling in the rooms and aged furniture and bathroom fixtures. The hotel needs quick renovation to be able to provide all round pleasure to its guests and compete with neighbouring Kingsbury, Shangri-la, cinnamon etc hotels.

+1
This hotel securely and safely right beside the Parliament. We booked a superior room with a view and was rewarded with the waterfront view of Galle Face beach. The breakfast had a large offering western and Sri Lankan food. What was more impressive was how much pride Sanduni took in explaining and describing her country’s food. Great service!

The high tea buffet at Galadari (on a Saturday evening) was very impressive, with a spread ranging from juices, iced coffee, cut fruit, finger food, sandwich station, meat kebabs, dumplings, sushi, pasta, pizza, cakes, tarts, waffles, baked alaska etc. plus tea and coffee.
Food was flavoursome and very satisfactory.
Service was very efficient despite the fact that the restaurant was full and the staff were friendly and attentive.
The ambience was nice with live piano music in the background. The overall experience is well worth the price (Rs. 1820 nett per person).
It is recommended to make reservation ahead.

My husband and I checked out after only one night at the hotel. He found cigarette butts on the floor in the corridor to the rooms and three employees walked straight past it, he needed to ask them to pick it up. The mattress in our room was broken in on the window side and the entire room was very very dusty and there was other people's hair in the carpeting. The room smelt bad like stale air and old cigarette smoke even though we were on a non-smoking floor. We checked out early in the morning and were left feeling like we needed a good scrub in the shower by being very itchy and uncomfortable from the bed. The housekeeping staff didn't acknowledge me at all when I was talking to them and wouldn't help me bring the ironing board inside the room, they seemed to briskly run away. We also weren't provided with enough coffee in the room and were denied more by the hotel, having to wait 30 min for a pot of coffee that was an additional charge. I would visit the lobby bar again but never ever stay in the hotel overnight. I wish I had taken pictures of what we witnessed but was determined to just get out! Wouldn't suggest to stay here.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel from the 17th to the 29th of February 2020. The guest relations executive and the staff at reception were incredibly courteous and welcoming. The room on the 12 floor was luxurious and had a panoramic view overlooking the sea and the Galle Face green. The room and bathroom were spotless and very clean. The housekeeping staff were well trained to pay attention to detail and the room was as clean as on the first day throughout our stay.
The housekeeping staff, coffee shop staff, restaurant staff and the staff at the reception were extremely polite and courteous at all times. The buffet dinner was exquisite with culinary magic from many countries on display. The food and service were excellent.
The hotel is centrally located and is within easy reach of the airport, train station, and bus station. There is absolutely no delay in getting a taxi or hailing a tuk tuk from outside the hotel. We will definitely stay at this hotel each time we come to this country.

I have been to the Galadari Hotel before, they have always made a big fuzz about the NIC. I had perfectly scanned colored copies of both sides of my ID which I suggested to show until my NIC got there in 20 mins. The 2 front office staff members disrespected and was extremely rude about the situation. The staff is extremely unprofessional and inflexible. I do not suggest this hotel for anyone expecting a speedy and easy check in. There are plenty of other better alternatives such as Jetwing Colombo Seven, they have the best customer service and the rates are just a difference of Rs3000.

When arriving at 3am the last words you want to hear at check-in are "No" and "Sorry"! But these are exactly the words that I heard when I was told that the no-smoking room I had booked was not available. In fairness to the staff member, he did upgrade the room type, but it was not a good start - and that really set the tone for the stay.
The hotel's halcyon days seem to be behind it, it is living on past reputation when there are many other properties in the near vicinity which are much better. The room and general decor is old and tired and the staff seem disinterested.
Overall I would not select this hotel again or recommend it to other travelers.

Stayed at Galadari with few friends after a function this weekend. It took more than 45 minutes for us to get the rooms after the arrival. The first set of rooms given were not cleaned properly at all, the bathrooms were stinky, weren’t cleaned properly. After our complaint got a better set of rooms but still the bathrooms had stains. We got in room dining for dinner and both took more than an hour for preparation. Reception staff wasn’t that helpful but the rest of the staff was helpful.

This hotel is disgusting the rooms are not maintained from the lobby lift to the rooms very smoky smell as we open the room door it was very smelling and when we complained asking for a refund the manager was just shouting to the welcome desk lady saying no refund in front of us . Manager didn’t even speak to us regarding the issue . Should remove this type of old staff from the hotel don’t even know to treat a guest as a star level hotel. Disappointing will never recommend this hotel to anyone . Buffet is also very poor lot of surfing dishes are empty not even refilled. Worst hotel ever 🤮🤮🤮.

We were here for a dinner at the main restaurant. In terms of food, i had a feeling as it didn't have much choices for the price and the taste wasn't that great. The restaurant was jam packed on that day as it was during Christmas Time, so we couldn't get a chance to enjoy the food with great talk. Staff was very attentive in terms of their service. The restaurant and the entire hotel was vibrant in terms of wonderful Christmas decor and settings. All in all the experience was somethings to be cherished but wasn't up to the expectations.

LKR 2750 per person available throughout the week. There’s an Arabic restaurant as well.
Hi. Would suggest that its best to write directly to the F&B Manager of the hotel, who would be in a better position to answer all your queries on the same.
Hi, I booked in advance with a private driver for my entire trip in Sri Lanka, so unfortunately I'm not sure.
