Pearl Grand hotel is located in area which is mixed with residential and shopping Proximity, This area which is called “Bamblapitiya is very famous for its shopping malls
Hotel located in a residential lane, it’s a modern building, rooms are medium in size and equipped with necessaries, comfortable & clean with Tea and Coffee making facility in room, though rooms are not large but still you get everything in room what you may need during stay, I guess all rooms have balconies.
Sea side is hardly 3 minutes’ walk, area is well surrounded by small shops and local food restaurants also
All Staff, including reception and room service is extremely polite and helpful, which makes your stay a pleasant one.
The Only thing I didn’t like was the Breakfast, it is one of the most tasteless breakfast I ever had in my entire travelling, almost same menu every day, I was the there from 20th Jan for 06 nights and it was so repeating that ruin my appetite for breakfast.
There is Rooftop restaurant which is used as Bar also, closes at 11 pm … and most of the time I found it empty
I sincerely request hotel management to improve the quality and taste of their breakfast
I ‘d definitely stay there again for my next visit

Had 4 nights at the hotel. Walked in off the street, asked for best rates and was looked after from the first moment. The Manager took a personal interest in my reservation, organised an early check-in, late check-out. Reception staff always recognised and greeted me. I was made to feel like a long-lost family friend who was visiting rather than a paying guest (which is so typically Sri Lankan). The room was as advertised, hot showers and comfy bed. They even moved me after one night to a bigger room when it became available. It's close to the shops and the main arterial roads but just far enough back to not be too noisy. I will definitely use this hotel again when I am back in Colombo.

The hotel is very nice & clean, situated in a very convenient place for foreigners, as its in the heart of the city,
We visited the hotel for the "Breakfast Buffet"
It was excellent,we had the choice of both Eastern & Western food, everything was tastefully prepared & well presented.
Service by the staff too was very good, Mr Eranga & Mr Suchira, went out of their way to make things easy for us. We.Appreciate it very much.
The Pastries at the Kafe 9 too was very delicious. Service here too was very good.
All in all it was a very nice experience.

We booked 2 nights at this hotel, and checked out 1 night before and went to Marino Beach Hotel instead. For starters, the room is extremely small, and not spacious. The toilet had stains on them, old shower systems and very small bathroom overall. The room was extremely cold when we walked in, there was no need to keep the AC on that high. We ordered some in room dining, received poor quality food. The minibar is not free, but it’s not expensive either. But most hotels have free minibars so I’m not sure why they’re charging here. The breakfast was the worst, limited options and very poor quality food. It was absolutely horrible. The only positive thing was the bed - it was comfortable. However, staff are also incompetent and needed to confirm things repeatedly at the reception. Didn’t even bother going to the pool, so can’t comment on this. I won’t recommend this place at all.

I’ve been to Pearl Grand from 8th January to 12th January and I would say that i was quite disappointed by the service offered from a 4star hotel. The room was quite good but the bathroom kept having a smell throughout the whole days. When I asked to clean the room it was poorly cleaned and towels were not even replaced so that I had to ask for them. On the second day, at night I realized that the balcony sliding door was not closing properly, hence the lock was broken. We called the receptionist and they send some people to fix it, nonetheless they were not able to fix the lock so they decided to put a new lock. I was late for my dinner as this whole thing took more than 2 hours. They offered us to more to another room, so we start moving our things to discover that even the other room (on the same floor - 10th) had the same issue. So we moved our thing back to the previous one. When i went downstairs to complain about the whole situation the receptionist was rude and he stated “its not good for our hotel” but never apologizes for the inconvenience caused. I won’t be back to this hotel again. I hope they try to elevate their standards a lil bit to help customers!

I stayed here via Booking.com but the hotel "cancelled" my booking so I couldn't review them. I think that's pretty shady.
I had complained about the bad service and quality of the boring breakfast. The F&B staff were extremely inefficient and unfriendly. I speak for breakfast only. They served Nescafe instant coffe only on a Dirty coffee station. No filter coffee, which I would've expected from a 4 star hotel with its own Coffee shop!
There were 2 pepper shakers and no salt on the table. No napkins. I had to get up to fetch these myself from other tables because the staff were inattentive and chatting among themselves. Needless to say I never went for breakfast on my second day.
Reception welcome was good. The FOH manager plus Vishvu were great and very considerate. Most of the other staff were friendly, but these two stood out for me.
Room is decent and has pretty much everything you need but bathrooms are very small
Thin walls. My room opposite lifts so I heard every beep. Room also had a TV with cable and Amazon Prime, which was really cool after a month of no TV.
I ordered room service once and the food was average.
The location is pretty good. Nice area with lots of shops and restaurants.
In fairness they did offer me a late checkout but I couldn't take it up because I needed to go and find breakfast in town.

The first room they gave us was a very unmaintained room.(6009) After we entered the room, the smell of the room was unpleasant and there were big sepage on the wall, wall stains everywhere, the bathroom handle was broken, the wc seat was stained, the bathroom grouting and the silicone was completely black. The TV has some stain marks and a visible stain on the headboard. Then I raised that issues to reception. I asked to meet FO manager or HK manager but no one came to our room. Then they showed us other different rooms 1010 and 9010 but we didn't like those rooms because of maintenance and cleanliness, then I asked to checked out same time but as per hotel policy they are is no refund. So I can understand it. They gave us key 8005 without showing to us. It was better than the other 3 rooms, but we still found a blood stain on the duvet cover. Curtain 2 hooks are come out, head board light fused and wall stains. We both are got tired complaining the things so we decide to stay in that room

Stayed 2 nights and one full day to break up a flight from Australia to UK. The room was a good size, clean and comfortable, kettle & tea etc in the room (love that) bed really comfy and a decent buffet breakfast. All the staff were very friendly & helpful, I had messed up my booking that they resolved no problem. I did not take advantage of the pool or restaurant/bar. The hotel is not in a touristy part of town but it was easy getting to where I wanted to go in tuk tuks, easy walk to the shore to see the sunset and restaurants etc. It was only a short stay but I would definitely stay here again

Our room was located outside the lift, was small, unclean and the air conditioning wasn’t working. So I h worn with this, we asked to be moved which we very rarely do. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast, although limited was ok. Pool small but does a job.

I like this hotel because it’s not a high-rise building, so you don't have to wait long for elevators. The breakfast options are good, and the rooms meet the standards of a 4-star city hotel. Check-in and check-out are also very easy, and the concierge is very professional.
