Lovely hotel room. Nice view and comfortable stay. I had the pleasure of dining at the Indian restaurant at the lobby of the hotel that serves fantastic chicken briyani. Shout out to Nayosh and Vihanga for their excellent hospitality and service at the restaurant.
The check in was delayed but it was sorted out and they managed to give me the room I booked after putting me up in another room temporarily. The hotel was full due to the conference I was attending so it was quite chaotic.
The location of the hotel is good, right in the midst of Galle, walking distance to the Galle shopping mall nearby (10 min walk) and Galle Beach.
I really enjoyed my stay here and had a memorable experience in Colombo. I would stay here again next time.

Beautiful room. The staff was very accommodating. Deshan at the reception was very helpful and made sure we had a comfortable stay. The room had a lovely view. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless and fully equipped with facilities like a separate shower and bathtub, luxurious bathrobes, reading lights in the room, etc. Generally a very comfortable and luxurious experience. Would definitely go again.

Ramada Colombo markets itself as a five star hotel when in fact it’s more like a good three star and four star hotel. The room was a good size room, tea and coffee, tv which said it had free films and not one started to play, air conditioning was loud and noisy which I had to turn off at times. Room cleaning was not great considering It’s status, the housekeeper used to leave their cart in the corridor every night and by the morning people had clearly gone through it taking what they wanted. Had to call down on my second day as by 4pm my room was still not cleaned. Restaurant apart from breakfast was an also service, the bar was dead and many a time I was the only one in there buying a drink and taking it to my room. Ordered room service twice and food was good. Bought coffee at the shop downstairs and always reluctant to give me my change without me asking. I also found this in the Galle Mall downstairs the road. Plenty of large hotels on Galle Face road which I would use next time.

Be aware that they charge a high premium for direct bookings on Ramada or Wyndham. We were charged a premium of 30% compared to Agoda/Expedia. We documented this to the reservation manager. They have a best rate guarantee, but refused to honor it or even reply on emails sent a week before check-in. They do not know what Wyndham Rewards are so expect to argue to get any of the perks that comes with the membership.
The location and rooms are good. That said its a smoking hotel so the stench is everywhere. Even in the non-smoking rooms, hallways and elevators.
Some of the staff are nice and friendly, but we experienced being lied to by several of the staff. The reception manager told us one lie after the other to explain the premium we were charged, almost portraying Wyndham as an evil corporate company. They have laundry service, but tried to charge us express fee when it was stated that delivery the next day was regular service. The next day the laundry was not ready in time and when asking about it they said it would be a few more hours. When they delivered they told us it had been ready for hours, but we did not open the door.
Roomservice is extremly slow, we waited for 1h and 30 min and had to remind them of the order twice. At the restaurant we had to wait 30 min just to make an order even though there were almost no guests and 4-5 waiters at work.
All in all a very disappointing stay

Rooms are dark and gloomy, bathrooms are tired, windows are not double glazed so traffic noise until late and birds will wake you from 4am.
Pool area smells like the kitchen, is where smokers are (overflowing ashtrays everywhere), no food or drinks service, constant construction noise.
Dining areas are dark and uninviting, breakfast room does not have air conditioning and has a cooking station next to it just adding heat. Buffet set up is tight and does not allow people to move about.
Room service is slow, we canceled our order as waited too long.
You will find much better hotels nearby for similar prices.

We had dinner and the food was excellent but the service given was way below standard.
There was an extra bill that we had never ordered. On top of that when we inquired whether we could have coffee after dinner, we were pushed around from one place to another.
Finally when we asked whether we could have it at the same restaurant that we had dinner, the manager bluntly refused.
His explanation was that a foreign group has just checked in and they need the entire restaurant to serve them. He even asked us to sit outside on a sweltering hot evening to have coffee.
I found his attitude terribly unprofessional and not at all welcoming.
He (Mr. Imtiyaz) really need to know that we local should also be treated equally and courteously.
I must say another two people with him too were very rude to us.
At this point the front office manager (Mr. Nipun) who acted swiftly asked us to follow him to the lobby and ordered us coffee from room service. He made it a point to sit with us and listen to our complaint patiently.
I found entire staff at the front office extremely efficient including duty manager Chamith.
I hope my complaint will get due attention and the management will seriously look into some kind of training and change the attitude of the F&B manager and their poor service in future.

More importantly the service provided by Vihanga Kasun and Santhosh was phenomenal. They always kept checking if we were comfortable and did recommend the exact quantity of the food to be ordered. Yesterday I ordered One Chicken Biriyani Sawan and watalappan from the Ramada hotel Colombo for the first time in my Life. I gave my order through the nice calling center team. Their customer service is very help and friendly. I had never get this customer service from any other hotel. all are received in well packed condition with Aluminium Sawan and covered with aluminium cover. There were superb different types of condiments well packed. Chicken biriyani is very tasty, food quality, packing and on time delivery all perfect. Nice experience. The service was great. The gentleman who I dealt with from beginning to end was really friendly and helpful and kept me up to date through the whole delivery process. I would highly recommend your services to friends, especially those who All Biriyani lovers.
