Courtyards are wonderful for business travel - you can always expect clean, comfortable rooms in a no-frills building and usually a great location for a very reasonable price. I love them for when I travel for work.
The Colombo Courtyard Marriott really isn't that - it's more on the level of the JW Marriott, Renaissance, or another Marriott luxury brand. I only booked a night since I was in transit, but I wish I stayed longer.
The grounds of the hotel are absolutely beautiful. They offer great views over Colombo and out towards the sea. The pool is exquisite, the restaurant has excellent options for all palettes, and the rooms are brand new and modern looking. I was treated like royalty here as a Marriott Bonvoy member as well (not that it seemed like that was a requisite given the service I saw everyone receive).
The location is also about as good as it gets in Colombo. You're very close to several parks for exercise (the gym is nice too; I can confirm). You can walk about anywhere you need to go safely. You're also very close to the Galle Face, the Lotus Tower, and other tourism hot spots.
I'm thrilled to see this addition to the Marriott portfolio and would recommend it to anyone. I'll be staying longer next time.

Staff was extremely friendly. Valet Staff to Security and to lobby and to the service staff will and always makes you welcome. The hotel was built in a perfect location close proximity to all the attractions and entertainment areas in Colombo. International standards are exceptionally maintained. Front office staff will make sure all your needs and requests and met and entertained. Shout out to the staff Ashan and Madhavee.
Perfect spot for all the International visiting business personals to relax in modern and clean rooms, also attend meetings and visiting clients in the heart of colombo.
Pool area has both beautiful nature view with sea and lake and also urban view with skyscrapers as backdrop.

We had a fantastic stay for 4 nights here. Good food and drinks available here. Plus mall attached with food court and movie theater. Nice location with a small lake to look at and walk around. Near the beach. You can walk there in about 20 minutes or take a tuk-tuk for 5 minute trip (300 rupes is a fair price). Have drinks or meal at Breeze Barracuda on the beach one day and watch the sun set (wear good mosquito repellant). You can’t get in the water here, but it’s nice to watch it and hear it and the place has a nice breeze (probably why they put breeze in the title. And don’t get confused, there is a barracuda sea food place 20 minutes farther, so be specific for breeze barracuda when getting the tuk-tuk. Negotiate the price before getting in or they will rip you off. Bed and room were comfortable and well appointed. Nice amenities for the bathroom/shower. Weight scale in the bathroom. Safe & fridge in the room. Free water provided each day along with tea & coffee. Afternoon high tea option at 4pm. We had zero problems during our stay. The staff was beyond amazing and really made our stay in Sri Lanka a great experience! We hired the hotel pick up/drop off to/from the airport. Clean car and nice friendly driver. We hired him again for a full day tour of Kandy and we could just charge it to the room. Price for day tour was about the same price as Viater but private and ease of asking questions and making it custom. Glad we booked from Marriott. If I ever get the chance to return I will stay here again for sure!

Having had bad experiences twice previously I had no intention of visiting the Buffet again. However since there was a Turkish food promotion taking place , I visited the Beira Kitchen and once again it was chaos. We visited at 8.15pm and were assured that food would not run out and would be replenished. Therefore we waited till a table was prepared and commenced our meal at 8.40pm. When we went to serve the main course at 9pm the dishes were already empty. Just gravy in the prawn curry. When you attempt to ask the staff about replenishing they look away. Very limited options. People serving themselves Turkish desserts and eating while standing near the buffet. It was inevitable that the desserts would run out too. We had to serve our mains and desserts at once to ensure we would not be disappointed further. We finished our mains and still felt hungry as there was only beef, some indian veg items and eggplant which we dont fancy. I then decided to have a soup and there were no bowls. I asked the Manager if I could get a soup bowl to which he frowned and replied "what u want???" . The staff then opened a little cupboard below and started replenishing crockery while I had to stand and wait for him to finish. While waiting for this task to be completed I looked over ad realised that several Turkish sweets had run out and the same available items had been placed in all dishes. If you are unable to cater beyond a certain number, please dont accept more reservations than is possible. This is not the first time this has happened and is a norm at this hotel. A buffet should not be on first come first serve basis when all guests are paying the same amount. If you are unable to accept please dont give false assurances and accept. When someone posts a review or complains a lovely apology is posted but no action is taken. This hotel just keeps cheating patrons.

29/11/2024, Friday night, my family went to the hotel to dine in the all-day dining restaurant around 8:00 pm.
In the lobby area, one of the front office staff helped us get the elevator and find the restaurant.
We made a reservation the previous day through a call, but once we reached the destination, it was not there. Then only we checked our email and realized that they made it on the 12th night, even though the staff managed to get us a table.
Once we reached the restaurant, the hostess was not at the entrance, but Isuru escorted us to a table. As per our request, he gave us a corner table, where we were able to keep our infant's stroller without disturbing other guests. And he provided a high chair for our toddler.
During the meal time my infant started to cry, therefore I had to carry him with me to the live cooking area to serve some sushi and grilled prawns, but chef Udara, who was at the action table, even though he was busy at that time, helped me to serve the foods.
On my second round, another senior chef helped me to serve the shawarma, breads, and soup. One of the supervisors or managers noticed that I was struggling to serve the foods, and he brought most of the food items to my table. (Sorry, I forgot his name. )
We loved the buffet spread, and each time it was filled accordingly until the last minute. The clearance was done on time. Throughout the whole night, my toddler enjoyed the dessert corner; the hot chocolate pudding was amazing, and of course the watalappan, mahalabia, red velvet cake, and cheesecakes were mouthwatering.
Once we finished the buffet, we settled the bill at the counter, which was 7,100/= (Dinne for two offers), which is money worth a night.
Once we stepped out from the buffet in the sitting area, we met the banquet manager, Asanka, who helped us to find the washroom, and we had a little chat with him, where we got to know lots of information about the hotel as well as the banquet facilities. Even though we were there to have dinner, after his details, we made our mind to host a family event there in the future. For sure, we will request Asanka to look after the event, just because he is a very friendly person with a good taste for customer needs and hospitality. We had 2 cappuccinos and a juice while having a chat with him.
Once we came down we wanted to take a family photo, and then a security person who was at the door helped us to take photos.
Over all, our experience in the hotel was amazing; definitely we will be back. Thank you for the great hospitality.

Nice Location & nice reception at ground level bell desk. Valet parking provided without any fuss. I came for Lunch buffet on a weekday. Seating area is nicely arranged & open area dining is another experience. The staff was somewhat friendly at the restaurant but not to the Marriot standard. Staff need to go long way compare to MArriot weligama. It was a very limited spread with soups, salads, Dishes etc, There were 2 soups but from the moment I went there Chicken soup was empty and no one bothered to refill it. I wonder if they kept that name tag mistakenly. Number of dishes were empty & they were not intrsted to refilled & I asked the staff a few times if I would wait for the food. I waited more than 10 minutes for the my Main Dish (Seafood fried rice) & I hardly found vegetables or seafood in there. It's literally the same as white rice. Binjoul Moju never came up & i gave up. Meat items are ok. By and large the buffet was unattended & I saw most of the time guests were waiting with plates. The desserts were not too bad even though the number of items were very limited. All and all Lunch buffers were not upto standard.

The location is fantastic. It is right next to a mall with a food court, cafe, plenty of shops, and a beautiful local Buddhist temple. The views are fantastic. The rooms are very comfortable and have a contemporary color scheme. However, I wish it featured local art or framed Sri Lankan pop art-type posters to give them some local flavor. The views of the lake and ocean are stunning. Breakfast was very tasty. Probably some of the best cheese croissants I have had in South Asia. The staff is very friendly, and the welcome amenities for elite members are great. The staff will greet you by name, which is rare at properties nowadays. I enjoyed the welcome of everyone I engaged with during my stay. There is now a high tea with great snacks and two alcoholic beverages provided to elite members during Happy Hour. That was one of my suggestions during my last stay and I was thrilled to see it implemented. Overall a wonderful visit, and I look forward to staying here again and will keep recommending this property to others. A special thank you to Ms. Donna at the front desk, Mr. Bandula, and Mr. Anthony for ensuring another fabulous stay for me and my colleagues.

Generally we had a very positive experience here. Quality of food friendliness of the staff helpful front desk all contributed to our pleasant experience here. The hotel is an ideal location by a mall where we had access to a food court with variety of meals with reasonable prices which was convenient. The rooms are functional but somewhat smaller. But many positive aspects outweighed the minor inconveniences. On the downside the guy manning the hopper station didn’t exhibit the customer service we come to expect from the Marriott Brand. He showed certain judgmental indifference we certainly didn’t expect or deserve. I believe he is one of few Indian nationals who was working there. Perhaps he needs some form of retraining. When I pointed this out to one of the front desk managers vanamohan vinojan he dealt with this immediately in a professional manner and to our satisfaction. The following day when we came down for breakfast the hopper station paid attention to our needs and served us with a smile that we expected from the Marriott brand. Thanks to Vanojan and other welcoming staff we certainly will return to Marriott when we are in Colombo in the next few months. Vanojan you are a credit to Marriott keep being a hard working professional you are and you will go far.

Courtyard by Marriott Colombo was the place where I stayed for the first night to kick off my one-week trip in Sri Lanka. I could conclude that it was a flawless start of my amazing experiences all along. The property is centrally located and in perfectly new condition. I received a warm welcome at checkin and a courtesy upgrade to the corner premier room with lake view. Requested amenities were properly set up, and the room was neat and comfy. Despite being a Courtyard property, the management extended a wide range of exclusive benefits to Bonvoy Elite members such as F&B discounts, complimentary afternoon tea and free-flow drinks in the evening etc. to enhance their experience. Despite the absence of a club lounge, elite guests could still enjoy selected cocktails, mocktails and other beverages at The Lounge in the hotel lobby. The virgin mojito and virgin pinacolada prepared by Udayanga at The Lounge were absolute delights. Instead of preparing drinks in accordance with the standard recipe, Udayanga was well aware of the features of various liquor products in order to fascinate guests with his knowledge and skills. As a bartender, Udayanga accorded guests’ satisfaction to the highest priority and was dedicated to striving for continuing excellence and professionalism in his work. I commend him highly.
