My husband and myself have just spent 3 nights at this wonderful little boutique before venturing off to the Maldives for our honeymoon. It is advertised as a 1 star and it is definitely more like a 3/4 star.
The staff were amazing, they went above and beyond to help us. We were given advice of where to visit and the best eateries in the area. Nothing was to much trouble.
It is in a central location where you can walk yet up a side street which is very quiet from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The breakfast was adequate and served with a smile. Room was comfortable and shower was fantastic. Manager booked us a taxi for our early start back to Colombo airport.
The mango tree, two min walk from hotel is a brilliant restaurant serving Indian cuisine.
There is a pool upstairs of hotel which we didn’t get to use as we didn’t have time.
Book you won’t be disappointed.
I hope owner reads this review to appreciate how well their staff runs this hotel and made our stay in Colombo very comfortable.

It was our first stay in Sri Lanka and a very good place to relax after a long plane trip. The room was clean, bed and linen very comfy and the staff always smiling and friendly. Breakfast included some fruits, toast, eggs and tea or coffee. At first it seemed a bit pricy but after staying in some other hotels in sri lanka I think it was a good value. You can also relax and get your first sunbathe on top of the building, refresh yourself in the pool and enjoy beautiful view to the city at night.

The hotel is super friendly with attentive staff willing to assist in any way. The room was very large and very clean. The pool and eco area at the top of the hotel was a plus and more than made up for the extra price. Value for money. Breakfasts were delicious and enough calories to last you a few hours. Coffee was Sri Lankan and very good. We are walkers so were able to get out and up to the Dutch Fort. Others might prefer taking tuk tuks and there are always some around. Hotel staff could help with that too. Overall, we loved this hotel and would return.

We have unfortunately been very disappointed with this hotel. First of all, they knew that we were arriving very early in the morning and they had reassured us that the reception was open 24h. When we arrived we realised that there was actually no reception; everyone was asleep and we had to keep ringing the bell as the door was locked. The hotel is NOT as appeared in the fotos. Damaged sheets, our balcony door lock was broken so it was impossible to lock it. We also found insects in the room! The breakfast was very poor with fruits- by no means fresh. The “mini bar” was empty and not even charged. The bathroom door was not closing unless locked. They had left in the room 2 warm bottles of water, that they were not replaced with new ones the following day. The best part of all was that in the evening that we wanted to go for dinner the owner asked us if we would be back before midnight, because, since there was no reception, he wanted to go to bed!! He actually did, and we had to ring again many times until we woke him up!

We stayed here just for the night to catch our flight the next day. It's a good basic hotel. Good for a short stay like you are in transit or if you are going out for most of the day. The hotel is clean, room was spacious. Location is great. Just two point to watch out for: Breakfast is super basic. Literally only fruits, toast, eggs and coffee/ tea. No other meals can be had in this hotel. One cannot order dinner in the hotel which is a downside considering we checked in late and travelling with a 2 yr old. We also requested a baby cot which they set up for us before we arrived. But the cot was damaged and our baby fell out of the cot during his sleep! Please ensure you check that they are not using this old damaged cot if you are traveling with your kid and request for the cot. Other than that, overall good hotel

Small hotel ideally located in the Kollupitiya district, perfect location for visiting the main tourist sites of the city. The staff is friendly, our room was spacious and well equipped, the bedding was comfortable and the bathroom functional. The breakfast included in the room rate remains quite basic. Another small downside, the hotel is a little more dilapidated than it appears in the photos and my room did not look like the one reserved (I may have been assigned another type of room).

We had a room with a large balcony which was nice. Everything you need is in the room (a/c, fridge, bottled water, safe, wifi). Bathroom very good especially the shower with good water pressure. Very nice breakfast with fruit, omelette (or eggs how you like them.) Places to eat and nice park in walking distance plus the whole of Columbo within an easy tuktuk ride. Street it is on is nothing special but felt safe. Hotel was fully booked when we were there so recommend early booking. Owner and staff very nice.

Stayed for one night for a short break. Unfortunately, as my room was on a lower floor there wasn't much of a view but the private balcony was most convenient. The room was clean and comfortable, and there was adequate space. A very quiet area of Colombo as well. The rooftop area and pool are lovely. Breakfast was simple but filling. Friendly staff.

Our recent stay at Lavonca Hotel in Colombo was exceptional! Desha, the manager, and the entire staff were incredibly helpful and made our big group feel right at home. The rooms were spacious and clean, with great amenities. The service from the entire team was outstanding—friendly and always ready to assist. The hotel's convenient location in Colombo was an added bonus. We highly recommend Lavonca Hotel for a fantastic stay in the city! Kudos to Desha and the team for a memorable experience.

Central located, cosy and self managed property. The rooftop pool amazing and its terrace is an amazing place to chill out in the evening.
Extremely efficient, helping staff; starting with the manager and ending with all the attendants; anticipating to any needs, suggesting places, directions, how to deal with local people,… really amazing team that makes you feel at home out of your home.
I extremely recommend Lavonca Boutique Hotel, special thanks to General Manager, he made our lovely stay wonderful,
