Nestled around a beautiful lake, Aathma Colombo House is a gem crafted by the visionary Dushi aunty, exuding elegance and charm at every turn. Operated with meticulous care by Niyo and Samir, our stay here was nothing short of enriching, leaving us captivated from the moment we stepped through its doors.

The boutique hotel's design is a seamless blend of contemporary sophistication and traditional Sri Lankan aesthetics. Each room is a sanctuary of comfort, adorned with curated artwork and furnishings that reflect a deep appreciation for local culture. Our suite, overlooking lush gardens and a lake, offered a serene retreat amidst the bustling city.

Service at Aathma Colombo House is unparalleled; Niyo and Samir's attention to detail ensured every need was not only met but anticipated. From personalized recommendations for exploring Colombo to thoughtful touches in our room, their dedication created an atmosphere of genuine hospitality.

The culinary experience at the hotel's restaurant was a highlight of our stay. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, showcasing the freshest local ingredients with a modern twist. The ambiance of the dining area, with its intimate setting and attentive service, complemented the exquisite flavors perfectly.

Beyond its physical beauty, Aathma Colombo House is a haven for cultural exploration. Dushi aunty's passion for art and design is evident throughout the hotel, with every corner telling a story of Sri Lanka's rich heritage.

Our time at Aathma Colombo House was not just a stay; it was an enriching journey of discovery and relaxation. The blend of luxurious comfort, exceptional service, and cultural immersion sets this boutique hotel apart.

Hands down, one of the most beautiful properties in Colombo. It is a unique, quiet & characterful house which is impressively designed. The attention to detail is exquisite. Each & every room is uniquely designed with beautiful antiques which adds color & charm.
This stunning property is located few minutes away from the heart of Colombo and it is surrounded by lush greenery. It is a lake facing property with all the nature sounds gracing through. It has many little corners to find yourself in and all the elements in the villa has been thoughtfully put together by the host. The host was very friendly and had a lot of knowledge about the area which makes you just want to stay there and enjoy the view.
If you need time to unwind and relax, make sure you pay Aathma a visit!

Couldn't ask for a better first stop in Sri Lanka. The hotel is beautiful, extremely comfortable, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Colombo but only about a 15 minute tuk tuk ride away. Definitely recommend the Sri Lankan breakfasts, some of the best food we've ever had, a real treat. This is one of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed at, couldn't recommend more!!

I recently stayed at Aathma Colombo House, and it was a delightful surprise. This place is anything but ordinary—it's like stepping into a living, breathing art gallery. The house exudes a vintage, eclectic charm that makes it feel special and unique.

The owner, Dushy Kumar, has poured her creativity into every corner of this beautiful property. Inspired by European tile art and artists like Gaudí, she’s transformed her former home into a vibrant space filled with colorful mosaics, hanging pottery, mandalas, and painted antiques. Each room is a unique work of art, combining bold designs with comfort and style, and it’s clear that a lot of love and thought went into the details.

What’s more, Aathma Colombo House is conveniently located, so getting to Colombo’s key attractions doesn’t take long. Staying here is not just about the comfort and style—it’s about experiencing a property with such unique character that it makes your stay memorable. From the floral-edged towels to the thoughtfully crafted in-room directories, every detail contributes to a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

If you’re looking for a distinctive and memorable stay that breaks away from the norm, Aathma Colombo House is definitely worth a visit.

Very very impressed and surprised to see such a unique product tucked away in such a busy area. An oasis overlooking the Diyawinna lake. Everything is so lovingly curated, created and crafted by the lady owner. Her remarkable non conformist artistic touch is seen in every nook and corner of the property and even in each tree in the lush gardens. Rich stories are associated with each area or artefact as is the name of the establishment ‘Aathma’.... the Soul. It certainly brings to life the ‘soul’ of the colourful lady who owns and successfully operates it

We stayed for our last 2 days at Aathma Colombo as part of our 12 day trip in Sri Lanka. Our trip was a celebration of my dad's 75th birthday and my son's 7th birthday. And the best part of our stay were the 48 hours we spent at Aathma, so much so that my husband and son did not step foot out once we checked in until it was time to leave.

From the moment we entered, Dushy Aunty, Niyo, Samir ( who co-run) the resort and the entire staff were warm and welcoming. Dushy Kumar has designed the place with years of effort and collected artefacts from all over the world which give the place a very warm and unique vibe, that we honestly haven't encountered anywhere else in all our travels. It is truly a sanctuary and a museum all rolled into one.

Niyo and Samir manage the hotel and were extremely professional and warm towards our entire family. Niyo even gave me shopping recommendations in Colombo and my son was a mini-apprentice for Samir, Niyo and the resort staff for 2 days. All the the staff are extremely courteous and helpful.

The rooms are spacious, comfortable, not to mention artful and classy. The place itself is edged by a lake and just being by the various sit- out spaces one can observe plenty of endemic birds and animals. Our meals here were scrumptious and the attention to detail to every little thing was unparalleled. We thank the whole Aathma team for our magnificent experience here.

We stayed at Aathma Colombo House last week and it was delightful. We have never been treated so well.
This boutique hotel was a quiet oasis in a busy brief trip to Colombo.
The staff provided assistance for airport pickup and drop off as well as day trips.

The most amazing unexpected treat was being offer cold juice at 2am when we arrived

We had the most wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff are most attentive, the surroundings and accommodation are really quite sublime. Special mention must be made of Milha, Geeth and Imran who went out of their way to make our stay a special memory, especially for my mom who celebrated her seventieth whilst here. Thank you for everything!
