Le Papillon is refurbished from a colonial house in Colombo. It’s a relatively new hotel, having opened in April. We stayed in the junior suite - the room was big and super comfortable. What we really liked was the rain shower. It was probably one of the best showers we had. Breakfast and the service was great too - definitely worth a stay while you’re in Colombo.

This was my first visit here and had a very pleasant evening with good food in a simple yet cosy setting . Food portions are generous and if you are not a big eater its best to share. Presentation was wonderful and the service was excellent.

The hotel was very good overall. Room was very clean and nice bed and linen. But here are a few things they can make the hotel an excellent place to stay. Improved services like regular cleaning of public areas. The lack of night time security may increase the risks for guests, particularly after midnight. Poojee did an excellent job to keep us happy

Visited a couple of times with friends for tea/coffee. Seating both indoors and outdoors is very comfortable. The outdoor seating area especially is lovely on an evening. Beverages we tried were good and service was quick and friendly.

So the food was yummy. And in ample amounts. A bit sweet for my palate. Had the pork dish with coconut rice. Yumm!!!

Visited Le Papillon for dinner with friends. It has a great ambience good food but service was nothing to write home about. The best was the baked crab. We were quite disappointed that although the menu is extensive quite a few items were not available. Contrary to expectations when walking in prices were reasonable.

Beautifully completed house. However the food does not match the ambience and the taste is very average. Price was reasonable and the service was excellent. However the food has let them down, it was premade and didn’t taste great.
