We stayed at this hotel on the last night of our SriLankan trip and once again we were greeted by very professional staff and were shown to a very good room. The level of service here was much more on par with what you would find in a western hotel. They have a very nice swimming pool on the roof with great views over the sea and the city. Colombo has a system of one way streets so you need to be aware of this when driving to this hotel. It is within walking distance of Galle with its evening markets as well as walking distance to a number of other restaurants.

Stayed here on 28/12/2020 during my family trip to Sri lanka. Located in a decent locality. I had a room with a good view of sea. The breakfast was good. Pool though is small in size is clean and well maintained. I recommend people booking this hotel to avoid rooms on 6th floor especially rooms to the left of elevator. My room number was 616 and i couldnot sleep till 12AM as the music/DJ/bass from the skybar on 7th floor was very annoying. Despite calling the hotel staff on 2/3 instances, no solid resolution was given by them and i had to wait till 12AM for the music to stop.

The staff, service and hospitality were all top grade. The breakfast buffet was more than satisfactory, no complaints about that. The manager, Irfan, made every effort to see that the guest had what they wanted. Very useful tips and advice was also given by the luggage porter, Kassim.
Nicht gefallen · Food and drinks, other than the inclusive breakfast can be had cheaper outside the hotel. I would recommend "Elite", the restaurant just around the corner opposite the mosque for Chinese and Indian cuisine. For day tours and such, refuse the hotel's overtures, cheaper ones can be had from Lotus Cabs (Telefon: +94 917 223 223).
I found it a bit annoying that almost every member of the service staff begged you to post a good rating of him and the hotel on Trip Advisor.

Stayed there three nights. The first room we checked into had a very bad strong smell of urine (Room 411) and only one bedside table with one lamp- although the room was reserved by our trip organizer for two people. We asked to change our room and the next day we were moved into a better room on the 5th floor with no smell, with an ocean view and best of all, two bedside tables with two lamps. Although it was on the 5th floor, our sleep was disturbed by very loud music from the rooftop party from the skybar on the 7th floor which lasted past midnight. Management should do something about this and make good uninterrupted sleep for hotel guests a priority. The front desk staff was helpful enough but should try and be more informed and knowledgeable about Sri Lankan handicraft stores and their locations. I ended up bringing back a flyer from one of the handicraft stores we visited that they can share with their guests who may be interested. On the plus side, the hotel location was very central with easy access to tuk-tuks, easy access to the US Embassy, the restaurant staff was very friendly (a big thank you to the restaurant manager and specially to Mahesh), the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a window with sunlight streaming in and a view of the Indian Ocean.

We have stayed in quite a few hotels in central Colombo over the years. The Wonder hotel is one of the best in terms of value for money and we have returned there a number of times. The premium rooms are certainly worth the money. Our room was spacious, very comfortable, good view, pretty good A/C and a clean, fully functioning attached bathroom. The 5 star hotel up the room charges significantly more for a smaller room with just the same facilities. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is great value for money and we would definitely stay here again when next in Colombo.

Starting from the older gentleman at the doors who always had a very welcoming smile, the very helpful front desk, the superb housekeeping staff, thank you to the chef and the restaurant staff who made sure we were all well looked after. Thank you Iwon and his tall colleague at the roof top bar for accommodating our alcoholic shenanigans. Mr. Ranjith (the manager at the restaurant) thank you for assisting us from day one. Had pleasant stay thanks all of you guys. Highly recommend if you are planning your stay in Colombo. Super easy access and convenient as it's on the Galle road. A peaceful roof top with a city view and the sunset.

Stayed there almost 14 days and the staff were very welcoming and pleasant. Full of smiling faces at the reception and the F&B manager, the Chef and the restaurant crew were the best we encountered so far. Tollarated our team and always made sure we were well taken care of. Would highly recommend anyone who is looking forward for a stay in Colombo. Make sure you ask for a room on with a sea view and make sure it's on the 4th floor or above. Thank you Mahima and the rest of the front desk team for all the assistance and a very special thank you to the house keeping staff member who made sure I walked into a fresh and cozy room every day after training.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights before leaving Sri Lanka. Based on the website, I had a different perception of what it would be like to what it actually was. On the first night, we went to the rooftop “bar” to order some light meals as we had got in pretty late. The reception staff mentioned that the rooftop was “incredible” and “amazing”. We were definitely amazed to find that there isn’t actually a bar. It was deserted. After 20 minutes and no one coming to take our order, I phoned the front desk. In total, I had phoned the front desk 3 times that night from the rooftop. I don’t blame the waiter at all, he seemed fairly new and confused as well. I think the front desk/ relevant departments should fix their service. When the waiter finally arrived, we asked for the drinks menu, we were told that they don’t have any alcohol on the premises besides beer. (I have included a photo of the bar which is on their website) We ordered food which took 50 minutes to arrive and caused my friend to almost miss her taxi to the airport. The food itself was really delicious although the menu description does not fit the actual food which you receive. The spring rolls were served with tomato sauce even though the menu says sweet chili. We were told they don’t have sweet chili on the premises. This happened twice during our stay. The chicken dish was cold and didn’t fit the description. The chicken schwarma had barely 3 pieces of chicken inside a massive roti filled with lettuce and cucumber. The pool and room was great. It makes up for the lack of service. On the last day, the duty manager Irfan voided the spring rolls and schwarma and gave us the best service in those 10 minutes than we have received the entire stay.

Unbelievably helpful and friendly staff makes this hotel a “must stay” location. They treated us like family from the moment we walked in, greeted us by name, took care of any problems we had, and even chatted about our home towns and traveling.
Artwork and styling throughout is unique and appealing. Huge murals on the bedroom walls give personal flair to the rooms. Bathrooms are clean and well designed. Cafe and restaurant on the first floor is convenient and friendly. Rooftop pool and bar with great seats and an awesome view overlooking Colombo is the best place to finish a warm Sri Lankan night.
Great new hotel with the friendliest staff I’ve come across in any country.
