If all you want is a couple of nights at a ger camp in the countryside, Steppe Nomads probably is a satisfactory choice. Our experience was different. After looking at their web site and seeing lots of activities on offer, we booked a four-day / five-night stay. That was a big mistake. Most of the activities they say they offer...

Stop doing what you are doing and start booking your trip to Steppe Nomads Eco Camp now. Really! The nature is nothing less than amazing! There is plenty of wildlife (and horses, cattle and sheep) on the steppes, in the mountains and in the wetlands and rivers. We saw cranes, foxes, gerbils, goats.. the lot! We arrived really late (the...

Our visit to Steppe Nomad Eco Resort was beyond our wildest imagination. We were greeted by four smiling faces when we arrived late in the evening. Staying in an authentic ger was quite an experience. Heated by a wood and coal burning stove kept us toasty throughout the night in our spacious accommodations. Delicious mouth-watering meals were served daily. We...

After a 2 hour of a bit tiring drive from Ulan Baator we arrived in an enchanted ample valley surrounded by wavy hills and intersected by a winding river. Al the beginning of the valley was the camp with a dozen ghers and a few small buildings. Not many tourists, due to the early season and a quiet and relaxing...

We stayed 3 nights in a ger and had a wonderful time in the Camp. The camp is easy to reach from Ulanbaataar and you can book a pick-up service by car. The stuff and especially the reservation manager was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, too. Vegetarian food was no problem. They speak english very well and...

We stayed 2 nights for the Nomads festival and it was a great camp. We stayed in an ensuite room which actually turned out to be a motel room which was wonderful. Heat, nice bathroom and a view of the camp and river which of course gers do not have. Food was good and varied and it had lots of...

The brochure really seemed impressive, however, reality was totally different. The gers are run down, the staff uninterested, the food on the first night was good but after that, it seemed someone else was doing the cooking. The staff were incapable of lighting the fires in the gers, not good when the temperature drops below freezing! This camp does have...

After staying GObi Desert for the past few days with limited clean water and electricity supplies, this camp provides unlimited clean and hot water for shower is "heaven". The staff here have arranged a horse riding activity, price is very reasonable and it was a great fun. Ger camp here is clean and food is good too

This may have been a fine ger camp back when it was new. But the management has not maintained the property and it is falling apart. The wooden doors on the gers are rotting, paint peeling, and poorly patched together. The camp promotes fishing, but has only two rods and reels, neither working. The stretch of river where the camp...

We spent two nights in the Gun-Galuut National Park, around 3 hours from Ulan Bator. The first night we stayed at the Steppe Nomads Camp. It is beyond expectation in all aspects. It is situated in a plain, just off the Herlen River, it has the most scenic location and since it is next to the river, water sports are...
