Lovely hotel and room, we stayed on 2nd floor, if you are staying longer then try rooms on level 4 or 5 as they have a great view over Mekong. Breakfast is great, a mixture of Asian and Western foods with full buffet service and they cook you eggs/omelet how you like. Staff very friendly. Mekong river at the corner...

For our first visit to Vientiane, we chose Lao Orchid after reading various comments on Trip Advisor and elsewhere. From the beginning of our booking process the hotel was prompt, attentive and most agreeable to deal with. We stayed for three nights initially with a fourth night following two nights in another city in Laos. The hotel arranged a van...

We stayed here for 2 nights in December in one of the standard double rooms. PROS: 1) Clean and well lit rooms with fridge 2) Comfy beds 3) Great breakfast with good selection and freshly made eggs on request 4) Restaurant available for lunch or dinner, simple dishes but tasty and very cheap and great if you're tired and don't...

I have stayed at Lao Orchid several times over the years and it has always been a pleasure to stay there. It is a 3-Star equivalent providing good value for money. The staff is friendly, the location good (in the vicinity but not in the midst of the busy road along the Mekong and about the same distance from "La...

Please bare with me as this is my first review of TA, but I needed to review this place. My family and I stayed here for 6 days from November 21 till November 26th. Everything was great up until the last day when my relative was down to breakfast for no more than 20 minutes, and upon checkout, she was...

The room are extremely clean and the bedsheet is crisp and white. The room we stayed for 3 nights had a balcany and has a side view of Mekong river. Every morning from 5:00-5:30am, you can watch Laotians around the Hotels giving alms to monks from nearby temples. One can also go for a stroll along the bank of Mekong...

I had room 406 which was an extremely clean, non-smoking room with a small balcony and view of the Vat Chan Temple. If you looked further away, you could see the river. Meals are on the 2nd floor terrace and it can get hot. The buffet breakfast is excellent with lots of variety. For other meals, the waiter will give you...

This review is long overdue (stayed in late 2010) but we loved the Lao Orchid Inn so apologies for the lateness... We had two stays here, with a trip to Luang Prabang in the middle. We were picked up at the airport, very friendly driver. The hotel has views to the Mekong and a temple across the road. This is...

My first visit to the Lao PDR. The hotel is in a very good location of Vientiane. I stayed on the top floor which had a balcony and a good view of the river front of the Mekong. The room was large and had everything that you needed. The hotel staff was super nice and helped me with planning my...

Stayed here 2 nights in May. Very modern with a classy feel, rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Hotel is very central to shops and restaurants. Breakfast is pretty good, didn't eat there in the evening so can't pass comment. Rooms are quieter in the back away from the road as is usual in Asia....
