We found this a very nice modern hotel of 4* standard. We had a spacious room, good wi-fi and a good sized bathroom. Our room had good views out over the Mekong River and surrounding area. The restaurant was fine, not a great choice, but the meals were good. Well located close to the river, the promenade and the Night...

Lao Orchid is located close to the night market which itself is located directly at the Mekong river. You can find numerous little shops and restaurants within close walking distance. A good starting point to explore Vientiane!

We stayed one night in the Lao Orchid in March 2017. The hotel is conveniently located in the city, right next to a (beautiful) temple, within walking distance of the most interesting other wats, within biking distance of all other major sights in the city center (in fact, the Lonely Planet suggested biking tour starts two blocks away), right across...

Spend a couple of nights in this very pleasant hotel with a great location. Close to the river, the night market, the city center sights and numerous different restaurants. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. The bathroom aswell. We stayed on the 4th floor and had a nice view from our balcony, although we did not really use...

Pleasant and efficient staff. Spacious rooms with desk and alcohol-free mini bar (free!). Great location close to river and central down town. Can look out onto the mighty Mekong and a gorgeous local Wat. Breakfast is plentiful and eggs cooked fresh to your liking. Beds pretty hard but comfortable none the less. Everything is clean although getting a little tired....

The hotel is well located and is well maintained and serviced. I thought that it was a hotel that was pretending to offer more than it is and hence the high rate. I found that the staff were bored and disinterested. The plumbing was electric shower thing with no hot water to sink. A lot of hotels are similar in...

I stayed as a solo traveler on 6, 10, 11 and 16 February. As noted by other reviewers, the Orchid is in an excellent location, close to the river and evening market and walking distance to the temples, shops and restaurants. In fact you can easily walk to everything in Vientiane from the Lao Orchid. It is a clean, reasonably...

We stayed at the Lao Orchid Hotel for three nights in January 2017. The manager, "Mr. Johnny," enjoys his work and conveys that enjoyment to hotel guests. He is one of the most gracious managers that we have met in travels to Asia. The hotel itself is kept in sparkling clean condition by the custodial staff. The location by the...

We recently stayed 2 nights at this hotel and enjoyed it very much. The room was large as was the shower although the water pressure was not very strong. The air conditioner was very effective although it blew directly on our heads. Breakfast was very good with very tasty dumplings and steam buns. The hotel location was very good as...
