The hotel is tired, our room smelled and the bar staff ( 3 of them eventually) were incapable of finding the ingredients for an advertised cocktail and when I gave up on that could not find a wine glass for the substitute glass of wine. The biggest plus is it's proximity to the airport.

My 3rd visit to this hotel , but my first since it changed from Novotel . The rooms though basic are kept very clean , the staff are helpful and go the extra mile to make your stay special. The pool area is nice and well kept the gym is small and could do with some new equipment . The...

While a little out of the centre of Vientiane - we found this hotel to be perfect for New Years Eve! When we booked it was suggested we pay for a "New Years Eve Buffet Dinner"! We were not expecting much - but were very pleasantly surprised! It was a very lavish & entertaining night! Staff very friendly & helpful!...

We stayed here by default, sent here by Lao Airlines after they cancelled our flight from Pakse to Siem Reap and offered to send us to Vientiane instead! We had enjoyed Vientiane last year so agreed to our new destination and as it was only for 1 night agreed to the Mercure. We wish we hadn't. The head receptionist was...

We stayed here on a recent visit to Vientiane and were disappointed as we were given a room facing the main road. The street noise was unbearable and the noise from the local disco went on till the early hours of the morning. The room and furniture was old and looked very tired. Obviously they knew of the noise problem...

Good nicely furnished room with all the necessary amenities you would expect of a 4 star hotel. Decent breakfast spread in a nice cozy cafe. Small but clean swimming pool and gym although the gym counter guy need to be a more friendly. Lobby is small and simple and the single lift to the rooms is still as rickety as...

I usually stay in Accor hotels and was pleased to find the fairly centrally located Mercure to 'fit the bill'. Located an easy walk or very short tuk tuk ride from the centre of town. More traditional style rooms, well presented and well maintained. No views from the room and on a main road, the rooms were fairly much sound...
