Been here a few times and the location is good. Walk to the cafes and restaurants nearby. There is a new cafe just down the street called Day2Night cafe which serves excellent coffee (hand roasted) and vietnamese 'Nahn Bot Lok' dumplings. Run by brother and sister Pao and Karen. Check it out, they open till late. Tell them a friend...

Location is ideal for tourists, walking distance to expensive to cheap food, night and day markets, massages and drinking holes. Staff is trained and very pleasant. Room is clean and smell nice. Good breakfast selection with attentive servers. Couple of improvements management might want to consider: back-up electricity during power outages and screen windows (useful when aircon fails and during...

If you must go to Vientiane, this is the place to say. It was my 2nd visit to this capital. I had been there before a decade ago and it was a tranquil, sleepy town lost in time. Now, it is horrible. It has grown without a shape and the city has basically no redeeming features which may justify a...

The Salana Boutique hotel was our first impression of Laos and I simply can't think of a better way to start! I loved everything about this hotel, but what makes it a standout in my life of frequent hotel travel, is the attention to the smaller details which I will come to. Let me first give all the necessities a...

A boutique hotel that has all we needed at a fair price. Attentive service, clean and comfortable rooms, relaxing bar overlooking the wat and street. Their free bicycles have non-adjustable seats - so rent from across the street.

A delightful hotel, well located, in the midst of many restaurants and handy to the night markets and many of the interesting Wats and tourist attractions. Rooms very well appointed, buffet breakfast varied and excellent, staff friendly and helpful. There are lots of beautiful timber ornaments in the rooms and corridors. The only downside is no swimming pool, but otherwise...

What a pleasant surprise this hotel was. Situated in a really convenient spot close to night markets and most of Vientiane's main attractions this place has everything. The ambiance is wonderful with tastefully decorated lobby. We were greeted with cold drinks which was really great after a hot flight. Hotel staff spoke good English, which is not always the case...

The hotel is situated conveniently, just a short walk to the night markets and many other attractions. We found the hotel staff very friendly and helpful. The Living Room is a great bar area to relax, which offers a great view down the street towards the river and Thailand on the other side. We took advantage of the Spa on...

Salana is a very nice boutique hotel that provides great service and gives you that personal touch. The location is great with lots of restaurants and Mekong river within walking distance. The breakfast is good, a buffet with a choices of a'la carte cooked meals (eggs, pancakes, noodles etc...). We stayed during Songkran and the hotel threw a fun Songkran...
