Just spent three nights at the Thang Long Hotel. Yes the beds are somewhat hard/firm and the inter net connection can at times be erratic. But the staff could not have been nicer and the location I think is great. The room was fine, AC worked cable TV and a mini bar. You are one block off the main drag...

We stayed for 8 nights at this delightful hotel situated in District One. Although not one of the more sophisticated hotels available it certainly provides good value for money. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have all the facilities that you expect to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Cable TV, air conditioning, hairdryers replenished soap and toiletries every...

The Thang Long is in a great location - on a quiet street near the upmarket hotels close to everything. The Hotel is clean, staff friendly and the room rate with breakfast included is pretty good value. BUT ... as other reviewers have indicated the Beds are rock solid - you may as well be sleeping on the floor!! We...

The Thang Long Hotel wasn't too bad overall. First the good points: great location, excellent choice of restaurants within a 2 or 3 block radius and quite clean. Surprisingly very quiet room. Negatives: Lobby staff had limited English speaking skills. One lovely girl was way ahead of the rest and quite helpful. But, the major item that let it down...

Thang Long Hotel is in the Dong Khoi area. This location suited us as it wasn’t in a noisy part of town but you could walk to all the major attractions. Nowhere was further than a 20 minute walk. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Thang Long Hotel. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast menu...

So you arrived at the airport , go thru final security , looking at 4 Money exchange counters, the One in the Middle Says Budget rent a car . Well they offer Tavi rides for 8.00 usd , and they put you in the cab and make sure the driver knows where you are going , or you could take...

Thang Long is in a reasonable location, but has no frills. To access the front door you will need to climb quite a number of stairs - no wheelchair access at all. The superior rooms are spacious with reasonable bathrooms but either the aircon or the hot water did not work - seems you can't have both together!! To compensate...

We stayed at the Thang Long for 5-days in early February and again in mid-March. It's a great choice for anyone looking for a "small hotel" experience in Saigon, where an expansive lobby, restuarant, bar or swimming pool aren't priorities. The rooms are a bit small but well appointed - it is worth upgrading to a superior room at $37/night,...

We were booked into the Thang Long Hotel in Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) for just a couple of nights, after having spent 8 days in complete luxury, cruising from Siem Reap in Cambodia to Saigon, down the Mekong. My expectations were that we might find the hotel a bit disappointing after such an experience. This was not the case at...

I think the Thang Long deserves a much higher rating in the tripadvisor Saigon hotel list. This is what I liked about it: Efficient confirmation and reconfirmation by email. No credit card details needed; friendly reception; clean and comfortable room with quite new decoration; nice breakfast on the top floor with a cooling breeze and river view; wireless connection (but...
