Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a few nights during a stopover in Hanoi. Staff is super friendly, rooms are clean and well organized and the breakfast is great. No complaints and we would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic hotel, lovely owners and staff who were so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Clean room and good buffet breakfast at the sister hotel (less than 200 metres away). Brilliant location in the old town. Great for bia hoi and street food. Thanks for a great stay!

The staff at Discovery Hotel are fantastic. They organised airport pickup and tour to Halong Bay at a competitive price with a good tour provider, for us. The rooms are clean and double glazing helps to keep out much of the street noise, which goes hand in hand with inner city accommodation. Based in the old quarter, the hotel is right in the midst of a multitude of small restaurants and bars. We returned 3 times in between trips around North Vietnam - leaving bags was never a problem. Basic guesthouse on the backpacker district in Hanoi Old Quarter. Three storey walk up air-conditioned rooms with hot showers and tiles flooring. On the side lane and near to the happening places just walk out from the guesthouse 3 minutes. The photos that you usually see is not the face of this hotel. It is on 25 Hang Man Street – Discovery Hanoi Hotel this is on the main street. But DISCOVERY HOTEL is on the side lane off Luong Ngoc Quyen.

Dear Mr. Chan, Thank you so much for your kind to choose my hotel during your holiday. It is also kind of you to post a nice review about my hotel. I do hope to serve you again if you come back Hanoi. After reading your review I tried to search "discovery hotel hanoi tripadvisor" and I found out all the pictures shown are belong to Discovery I Hotel. If you do not mind please help to send me a link where pictures from Discovery II hotel are shown. Again, thank you so much for your kind and have a nice day!

I was thankful to only have to ascend one flight of the narrow stairs to reach my room, but with only two rooms on this floor, many others might not be so lucky. I even had a balcony! I never went out on it as I don't imagine it had much of a view, seeing as I could just about touch the building next door. Generally I thought the location was awesome for a weekend night, ie right in the middle of Walking Street (which also means it was noisy but whatever). Typical Thai wet bathroom with the shower over the toilet. It was small so everything got wet. In room safe that I didn't use, so I can't comment on that. Front desk very friendly. Apparently an employee sleeps on a cot by the front door at night, as I discovered when I left the hotel before 6 am the next morning. As an inexpensive place to stay in the Old Quarter, I have no complaints.

Excellent hotel choice considering the price and the location in the Old Quarter. I especially recommend this hotel for a solo traveler that wants a private room. Incredibly kind and helpful staff. Sufficient breakfast. Comfortable beds and pillows. Noise does travel up the stairwell quite easily, but subsides after 11pm for the most part.

This hotel is in the heart of the Old Quarter. I had my own private room with two beds and a shower for 16 USD. I would recommend if you are a light sleeper and don't want to stay up past 12 to bring a pair of earplugs. Nguyen and Mike are great hosts.
