I booked this hotel as rating on the web had been good on TripAdvisor/Agoda (FYI, I have tried >50 hotels in Hanoi, being in Vietnam for 7 years by now). Overall, this is a good little hotel, just like staying at some friend's house to say. At home, small-scale, and not commercial/industrial, which I liked a lot actually. The room...

Good well trained, enthusiastic staff and the owner is approachable and often there to give help and advice. Our room overlooking the street was not too noisy. Security was good. We could walk to through the old quarter and to the water puppets, the university, the fine arts centre etc etc, which we did. Breakfast at Josephs had a great...

We stayed three nights with a trip to Halong in the middle. The hotel had all the amenities we needed including a good wifi. Breakfast was good and the staff very helpful. The location is convenient for the old town and there are nice restaurants around to eat at. Excellent value

We loved this hotel! Our room was exceptionally clean and bright (we were in a twin room on the third floor), had great wifi, and the best shower out of our several comparable hotels in Vietnam. The staff are incredible and the breakfast (Western or Vietnamese from local vendors) was by far the best we had.

Our room was large and clean, nicely decorated. The mattress was comfortable but an old spring mattress. Room included fan, air con, tv, sofa, fridge with mini bar. Best shower and water pressure whole time we were in Vietnam. Breakfast was good with western and local options available. Wifi in our room was dreadful, we couldn't get a signal and...

My front room is extremely comfortable with great light from those huge windows/balcony. A large 39" flat screen TV, great bath with rain shower and modern fixtures, and the very special breakfast - so big you can skip lunch! Not many places have french press coffee in Hanoi, but Joseph's only has french press, and the many tropical fruits and...

I have stayed with Brian at his first Joseph's Hotel many times and tried Joseph's Hang Da on this trip. The hotel is in a great spot, being very central but like an oasis in the chaos at the end of each day. Brian and his staff were very helpful when we needed directions or suggestions for places to eat....

We stayed at Joseph's Hotel for over 5 weeks and it was fabulous. Brian, the manager of the Hotel, was great and helped us coordinate excursions to different areas of Vietnam and had suggestions of things to do in Hanoi. His staff was excellent and very friendly. Every morning we had a wonderful breakfast..made to order! Since we were there...

“Wifi was really good. I used it to teach for up to 6 hours every day via Skype and had no problems. Go to the place across the road for the famous fish dish and one of the beer places on the corner. Brian is always happy to recommend places to eat or grab a coffee. It feels a bit like staying at your uncle's place.”
