Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A clean and comfortable hotel in the old quarter. The staff, especially Anne, David and Jennifer were amazing and returning to the hotel felt like coming home.

The breakfast buffet was delicious and filling and all of our needs were met with a smile. We stayed two separate times on our 3 week trip to Vietnam. Highly recommended

Great central hotel - really enjoyed the breakfasts- with fabulous staff who were very helpful and sorted out trips from the hotel . David and his team worked tirelessly to ensure we had a great time. David helped to sort out trips to Sapa and also to Halong Bay.

Cannot fault this hotel, the rooms are exactly as described and in the photos, we had a balcony which was great. The air conditioning is excellent (so important especially in Hanoi) and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast is great and convenient. The real highlight is David, the hotel manager and travel consultant. He is such a ray of sunshine and organised our trips to Sapa and Ha Giang in such short notice and we had the best time. He was available for any questions at any time (literally - I rang him at 3.30am with an issue and he sorted it out immediately no fuss). He planned our accomodation, travel, meals and tours and we didn’t have to do or think about a single thing, just show up! We will definitely be back!

I arrived at 3 am. The hotel is extremely loud. Every step in the hallway or in hallways on other floors echos through to your room. The squealing carts of the room service personal will wake you up at 8. The windows have no noice isolation, so you get the wonderful noises of the city (why I booked an inside window room. Sadly I got one with an outside window).
Also the bathroom only has a glass door and it has a window. Therefore you room will be awake bright as soon as the sun rises.

Can only recommend this place for people with a very deep deep sleep. For me it was impossible to get any rest here.

We booked room #801 but it smelled heavily of mold. There was standing water in the bathroom and water stains that look like they just paint over it. I told the receptionist and she said 801 is their best room and there weren’t any other rooms available. She told us we would have to wait until the morning to speak with David, the manager. I sent David a message on whatsapp and he got us into room 301. The smell wasn’t as strong so we agreed to stay there but when we woke up there was black mold growing on the ceiling directly above the bed. We packed our belongings and had to walk to another hotel at 7am. David thankfully refunded the original amount but still charged us for one night for the original more expensive room minus 10%. Overall very unhappy with the experience and felt as though they never truly address the mold issue and hope people just don’t notice. This was March 27, 2024.

Great location for the price point in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Friendly and helpful staff, good sized rooms, we had 3, comfortable beds, functioning bath rooms, good AC, passable breakfast. Worth going back to, we did, between out wandering around northern Vietnam!

To quote a favourite phrase ‘it does exactly what it says on the tin’

Footnote: Close proximity to what became our favourite Banh Mi experience at ‘Banh Mi 25’. Worthy of a tasty visit.

Overall, this is a great place to stay, and I would have no hesitation staying there again if I return to Hanoi. The staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The room was a very good size and comfortable. Breakfast was quite enjoyable. It's located within easy walking distance of the Old Quarter.

Thank you to the whole team for the stays (3 nights upon our arrival, one night before our return to Europe).
Great quality/price, attention and sympathy. Listening from Jennifer (who speaks French perfectly) and the whole team (in English).
Helpful and excellent experience for the trip to Along Bay.
Room and breakfast OK.
Well located north of the old town, 10 minutes from the lakes.
Recommended with eyes closed, smile as a bonus.
