Super friendly people! Very helpful, provided breakfast and water for free! A great location and clean and comfortable accommodation. I would certainly recommend this place. The staff helped us with informing us of what to bring for our tours as well.
The dorm room I stayed at is quite basic but fine and vwry cheap ($5). The staff here are really so nice. They will jump to action if there is anything you need and love to have a chat to you if you're waiting around...More
This little hotel is perfect. Great location, in front of the lake, few minutes walk to the old quarter. The rooms are very spacious with comfy beds and the bathroom even has a bathtub. We booked a 2 night cruise to Halong Bay with them...More

This is more like a b&b there isn't a common room or kitchen for guests so bumping into other guests is rare. You will met people on the tours to halong bay or sapa. The hanoi hostel will organise those for you and they are better value than the ones on the street. The larger hostels would offer a better chance of being people but they seemed to be party hostels so prepare for noise and drunkenness;)
