The Chiang Mai Gate is a great hotel for a family for the following reasons: 1. The tour desk will do all of the legwork organising kid friendly tours. Our kids (6 and 4) rarely paid full admission prices, and hiring the minivan worked out quite cheap. The drivers were always a lot of fun, and worked hard to go...

Regular, basic hotel with not much personality. Location is ok (for night market you need to ride their van or get a tuktuk), but has some restaurants nearby. Service was ok, the in room wifi signal didnt reach our room so it was a waste of money. Breakfast was good.

We are in day 6 off an 8 day stay in a deluxe room. This is a very good, probably 3-star, Asian hotel. The rooms have plenty of space, with fridge and safe and two arm chairs. The pool and its associated bar are more than adequate. Breakfast is a bit boring (but plenty of other good places around). The...

Me and my wife we stayed in Chiang Mai Gate for 5 nights from 13th November 2012. Overall a Charming hotel with very friendly staff, very laid back feel. It's within walking distance of Chiang Mai Gate, on the perimeter of the large moated square in the centre of the city. On the way we found a large bike dealer...

Tourist information desk adviser was incredibly helpful and kind, nothing was to much trouble for her as she went out of her way to find us information. It was also very easy to communicate with her. i recommend her advice if you are staying at this wonderful hotel.

Great big lobby and entrance area. we stayed in the standard twin rooms which were nice enough, basic but clean and roomy. The baths at the base are plastic so when you have a shower the sound of the water hitting the bath is actually quite loud (i was woken by the neighboring rooms having showers... so something to keep...

My wife and I stayed here for 7 nights. I feel it was a good value for the money. It has a pretty nice lobby area and pool. The room itself is dated but nice. The bed is very large but not particularly comfortable. It was nice having a balcony and a bathroom with a tub. The in room safe...

The Chiang Mai Gate has undergone a wonderful transformation since 2012 with a more art decoish looking lobby and the surroundings. I have stayed here all the time when I am here and the reasons are very simple, quiet ambience, wonderful staff from the bell boys to the manager on duty, breakfast with one of the best black coffee in...

I stayed here on a G Adventures tour twice. The lobby is large and welcoming, and the staff are friendly. We were offered a glass of juice on arrival. The room was a good size - we had enough space for for our luggage, but we had the air con unit on the balcony and when the door was open...
