I wanted to mark this family guesthouse higher only because the staff was fantastic, so helpful and upbeat, but the fact is the guesthouse is in need of refurbishment. The aircon barely worked in my room so I asked for a fan to supplement. The fan was brought promptly and cheerfully and was sufficient most the time as it wasn't...

We stayed 7 nights due to family being in the Ram hospital across the street. We had room 8 on the second floor with large windows. It is a double room (king size bed) with air con, fridge and tv. The room was serviced daily. Staff was very kind and accommodating. The laundry cost was high compared to street vendors/shops,...

The Red Hibiscus felt like our home away from home. The positive energy and attitude of everyone who works to keep the place running is felt in the air. Being there, we felt at ease. The rooms are tastefully decorated in Lanna style and they are all unique. They are spotless and the sheets and towels are very clean. Something...

It's a homely guesthouse with so many other incentives. Gay (a staff) hooked me up with the best clothes and beauty products at a ridiculously affordable rate. Incase you are looking for the fashionista wow factor for both men and women.....do ask for Gay. The guesthouse is located in a quiet area far from the Chiangmai honking fiasco. The rooms...

Tucked away from the noisy corner of the old city, Red Hibiscus was a lovely little home to us for 3nights in Dec 12. Clean tiled rooms, natural light and fresh air. The owner was very lovely and helpful and gave us discounts on some tours. It is a basic $30 p/night guesthouse but for that category we were happy....

I stayed at the Red Hibiscus in December 2012 for five days while looking for longer-term accommodation. It is a small, family-run guesthouse in a quiet area where everyone makes an effort to make your stay pleasant. I requested a first floor room and that is what I got. The room was good-sized, attractive - marble floor - and had...

Double room with the largest bed I have ever slept on, lost my partner in there somewhere. Nice clean bathroom and good air con. Location slightly out of town centre, not really a problem. Best thing about this guesthouse was the lovely family staff who had a lot of time for us and couldn't do enough for us.

Stayed here for one night on my trip to Chiang Mai in March. Got dropped off here by accident by a tuk tuk driver on my way to a potentially more expensive place, so I walked in the door to give it a shot. The first thing that struck me was how friendly the family are that run the place,...

Booked 2 rooms for 1 night Extended to 4 nights while looking for a home to rent long term. Happy to extend a further 14 days when waiting for the home to be renovated. I have no hesitation in recommending this guest house. The location for us was ideal being a short distance from anywhere we were wanting to go...

“Check the locks on the door before you select a room. None of them are good but find the one that is least bad. Room #8 seemed to be better than some of them. If you can open the locking mechanism with a credit card or screwdriver, pick another room.”

“If you’re able to climb two flights of steps, I recommend staying on the top floor. I had a lovely view of the mountains and the temple on Doi Suthep, and I could even see a little section of the moat.”
