We booked the place based on reviews read online. We weren't disappointed. It is a family run & owned Guest house. The courteous staff ensured our first time stay was comfortable not only in the accommodation but also on travel tips, transport & things to do in Chiang Mai.

The Red Hibiscus Guesthouse is a lovely place, the room I stayed in was beautifully decorated in Lanna Thai style, a little old, but immaculately clean! The Red Hibiscus is within the walls of the 'Old City' but in a quite location and a little away from the 'nightlife' and main touristy restaurants. But the shopping malls and other attractions...

I stayed at this guest house for twenty nights. It's positioned conveniently inside the old city, close to several good restaurants, and the lotus shopping mall. The rooms are clean, the beds not too hard. The bathroom is dated but clean. Breakfast is ok but a little spartan for Europeans. The staff are very friendly and speak good English. Gai...

This guesthouse is very good value and has beautiful Lanna architecture, away from the busy town and cosy. The hosts were very friendly and helpful (they also provide airport transfer service) and provided welcome drink. When you wake up in the morning, there's a beautiful sunrise view with birds chirping in the background. Spacious, Wi-fi is fast, TV had English...

This is a very nice, no frills guest house run by an extremely helpful and friendly city. It is located on the western edge of the old city, so you'll have to walk a bit to the bigger tourist attractions to the east. But, it is also much more quiet and less touristy. So, it all depends on what you're...

The Red Hibiscus is showing its age ever more than me and its location may not be the best in Chiang Mai, but the service was brilliant. We spent three days (2 nights) there and the manager Gay was extraordinarily helpful and fun. She organised our flights to Bangkok, our tours, massage etc etc etc. At one stage she was...

I liked the Red Hibiscus a lot. The rooms are great value for money. It's a little bit away from the action but this suited me as I had a bicycle and prefer the quieter neighbourhoods! The owners were really helpful and I liked that I could put a padlock on my door from the inside when I was home....

This is a super guesthouse. Rooms were large; tidy; and clean. Staff were exceptionally helpful. Nice balcony outside room where one can park a chair and relax. Staff spoke good english and really tried hard to help. Guesthouse was quiet and beds were very comfortable. Location is on outskirt of old town, hence, quiet, red taxi is only 20 bht/person...

Red Hibiscus is a great mix of location, facilities and price. It's in the Old Town which I consider to be a considerable advantage but with that, you are also walking distance from Tha Pae Gate, and main Wats, restaurant districts etc! They are super friendly here and their rooms are perfectly adequate! Would certainly stay here again if in...

This guest house is situated off the beaten track in chasing mai, but is only a short distance from the airport In a tuk tuk. We got to the hotel late at night and was greeted by a lovely lady and shown to our rooms. Although still fairly basic, the rooms were spacious and just what we needed. Compared to...

“Check the locks on the door before you select a room. None of them are good but find the one that is least bad. Room #8 seemed to be better than some of them. If you can open the locking mechanism with a credit card or screwdriver, pick another room.”

“If you’re able to climb two flights of steps, I recommend staying on the top floor. I had a lovely view of the mountains and the temple on Doi Suthep, and I could even see a little section of the moat.”
