Our stay in Chiang Mai at Makka Hotel was fabulous. The staff is so friendly and humble, Bow that served us at breakfast took very good care of us with quick and efficient service, the team in the front desk always greeted with warm smiles, we remember Tian, unfortunately we don’t remember the name of the lady, but anyway all are giving amazing service. The hotel is located in the center of the old town, 15 min from airport. From there is easy to walk around and see most temples, about 10 minutes walk from the night markets and the big Sunday market is just few steps away. The area is very tranquil and quiet, the hotel is beautifully designed with mostly open areas and a well maintained garden. It felt like being in nature even in the center of the town. We really loved how peaceful it was, the background music was so calming. Our room was a suite on the upper floor (only ground and first floor), not many units, just as we like. It was spacious and with all the comforts. What we really liked is that you have to leave your shoes in a cabinet downstairs marked with your room number to access the rooms area, slippers are provided but we preferred going around barefoot as floors are so clean you can mirror yourself. Hardwood dark floors and Thai style design. Breakfast was served a la Carte with mainly Asian choices which is what you should enjoy when visiting an Asian country, but also cereals, fresh fruits and English breakfast were available. We will be back to Thailand and to Chiang Mai that we loved, definitely will choose again Makka Hotel for our stay! Thank you all!…
We stay here for 2 nights, all was great ! Nice hotel, good atmosphere with excellent services.
A beautiful hotel, copied down a side street, making it quiet and peaceful yet still well located. This hotel has a few small quirks but then again which hotel doesn't? The absolute amazing part about this hotel are the staff. They are the best! Helpful, polite and friendly.
We stayed there for 3 nights and happy, very happy. Location is good and the staff is really nice. PROS, Nice decoration, good photos oportunities, beautiful architecture, nice touches, enchanting library, and breakfast sufficient, veyr helpful and willing to make your stay comfortable by the staff in general. CONS, You have to walk bare foot at the hotel, it is quite dark inside the rooms and outside, clealiness is ok not the best as the bathrooms are quite obscure due to dark tiles, rooms are small, not good views unless you pay more. Although the cons, I can go back to this hotel. The staff made the difference but if cleaner, that will be a 10/10
The central location in the old city wall near many temples and weekend walking street. The hotel is small with limited parking. The staff is the asset as well as their contemporary design that make the hotel very charming. It is not business hotel due to no working desk in the room but guest can find a lovely working space with 10 seating meeting room on the top of the restaurant. The hotel provided FOC minibar with unlimited refill. The staff is so friendly and attentive.
Excellent hotel in fabulous location. Staff are wonderful. Breakfast is abundant and worth having. Go for deluxe room as better value. Lovely setting with a nice restful “library” upstairs. The air conditioning is extremely effective. A very relaxing place to stay - like an oasis in the centre of the city. Will definitely return.
Small boutique hotel, 20-30 minutes from the airport, perfect location in central Chiang Mai but very peaceful and quiet, only 24 or so rooms, beautiful construction and architecture, fantastic breakfast avalaible until 12.00 every day, charming staff, gorgeous, large and well equipped guest rooms, super beds, great location being very near to temples, shopping etc, easy parking on site, the bathroom was a little on the small side, and the beautiful teak floors can be quite noisey (get an upstairs room) if there's a family staying above you, the 'library' abiove the open air breakfast room is a splendid place to relax and chill. The only meal served at the property is breakfast but there are bars and resturants a plenty within 100 meters on the Hotel. Having said that Makka, being down a narrow side street,is realy quiet and tranquil 24/7. There is no swimming pool. Ground floor rooms each have a small courtyard to sit out in and smoke for those that way inclined. When next in Chiang Mai I will stay at Makka again.…
What a stunning piece of architecture this place is. From a hotel perspective it is pleasant. The rooms are small with little space to unpack (I am too old to live out of a backpack and prefer to unpack my cases). The bathroom is tiny but it works for a short stay. Breakfast is adequate and the staff are great. Reception staff are in the main helpful. This is a bus stop pickup point for the tourist bus to the main shopping centre (high end shops). The hotel is very close to the Sunday night Chaing Mai street markets - make sure you are there on a Sunday night. Situated in the old town, it is within walking distance of the Chang Mai night markets. We got a tuk tuk taxi to give us a tour of Chaing Mai - very interesting. We didn't want to stop anywhere just to see the sites (500 Bht for 2.5 hours). There are massage places, convenience shops and restaurants within waling distance. No pool but the architecture of the place enticed us to visit.…
This is a small boutique hotel, and it has all the features you'd expect with the exception of a swimming pool. It's centrally situated in Chiang Mai and within easy walking distance of shops, bars, restaurants, key tourist locations, etc. The staff were absolutely lovely and couldn't do enough to help. We had breakfast included and there was a good choice listed on the menu to meet our needs. The only downside was that the bathroom was a little snug. That said, I'd definitely recommend this hotel.
This hotel is amazing! It’s located in a very central area of Chiang Mai, just a block from Wat Chedi Luang which is a major temple to visit. Despite being steps from bars and restaurants as soon as you walk into the lobby of dark wood and tiles you are in cool oasis. The rooms are spacious and beds are super comfortable. The bathrooms are also spacious and beautifully decorated with huge mirrors and an open granite shower. One of our favorite spots in our week here was the library above the eating area which was cool with an amazing coach to chill out on. Speaking of eating area, we ate breakfast here every day - make sure to try the beef soups which are ridiculously delicious. We will definitely come back to lovely Makka next time we are in Chiang Mai- can’t wait.
