A very nice room, very pleasant dining room, enjoyable pool and spa, good massage. Most people do not speak English. One person at the reception, Ussanee In. was very welcoming and exceptionally helpful in all areas.

This hotel is in a quiet location, despite being near the Night Market and Thae Pae Gate. The staff are friendly, hardworking and well trained. Breakfast options are limited but service remained efficient and warm. We received roses every night during the turn down service. Request for a higher floor room to get a good view of the surrounding mountains....

I believe Empress was really impressive many years ago by its size and design but it is very old dated hotel. It is not too far from the night market and main attractions, the breakfast is fair but dont use the gym, it is incredibly old and extremely hot even though the air con "is on". Some staff could not...

We had a wonderful stay at the Empress Hotel, much more then what I was expecting for the price point. The staff is so gracious and nice, complete with a bag of cookies/treats, roses at bedtime and dinner, and really give the impression they are glad to have you. We ran into a bit of stomach troubles on our stay...

We stayed at the Empress hotel for 3 nights. The lobby of the hotel is impressive looking, however, the rooms are quite run-down. The wifi connection in both the room, and the lobby area didn't work a lot of the time. We also found it annoying that the hotel would only give us the one key for the room, which...

Very hospitable staff. Clean and nice rooms. Very close to the night market. The welcome gift was amazing. My daughter was over the moon with the gifts! Breakfast however was the exact same every day for 5 days. It got monotonous after the first day. Would recommend they tweak a few items in the menu every couple of days. Overall...

This is a large hotel in the $100 a night range not far from the nightmarket and the old city. It is an older hotel with a traditional Thai decor. Very nice service, fine buffet breakfast and if you do not mind the "schmaltzy" effort, an elaborate thank you free dinner with gifts, roses andthe works. In the Thai winter,...

This hotel is a bit pricey. If you're looking for a cheap getaway this isn't it. On the other hand if you're looking to relax in a clean, comfortable room or relax by the pool or sauna then this is your stop. With the in-house restaurant and bar you don't have to leave the property. And if you do, speak...

A little dated but loved it. Like many Thai hotels of this age it could do with some attention but we were well looked after and loved the comp meal and special surprise gifts throughout our stay. I would stay again!
