Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Horrible mistake booking this hotel. It is very old and poorly maintained. Primarity used for big tour groups so they don't care about anything. The rooom smelled stale and unpleasant. The beds were very uncomfortable. More like you would find in a cheap motel off the highway. We booked a double room on a higher/quieter floor. We were given two singles acoss from the convention center. Basically the lowest and noisiest. Terrible, terrible stay for a couple. Riuned our stay in Chiang Mai. There are hundreds of choices in Chinag Mai don't choose this dump.

Looks good delivers little. First impressions are important so while it looked great they could not serve me a drink at 10pm on arrival. Next morning the internet was out so unable to get an idea of where the hotel is situated in relation to the main area. It looks close on a map but it is not and the neighbourhood is not somewhere I would walk at night. Has a great gym but no lights on to indicate it is open. All in all made the visit to Chiang Mai un-enjoyable. Food offerings are not aimed at western tastes and Thai time means they shut when they want to not when advertised. There are no restaurants or shop's within 400 metres and as mentioned the surrounding area is a dim slum/carpark. The room itself was impressive

This was first time I visited chiang mai, the hotel was huge and very big, staffs are amazing also the receptionist is very helpful, even the housekeeping attendant, also they have big pool also can get drinks from there. Also price is worth and rooms are huge for a couple. I would highly recommend this place if anybody going with low budget, also receptionist help us to book bike for the holiday.

The hotel is giving me an old-town vibe. The year the hotel was built and the culture it presents will give answers to those who view this hotel as an "old" one. The hotel is far from modern but the service and amenities are there, it's functional. Close to downtown and has a big lobby. In our recent experience, we had an off-moment because the hotel was so dark at night. We booked a taxi from a shopping mall back to the hotel and the driver was also shocked at how dark the hotel is. Don't know if maybe they're just saving lights or what. The pool is quite big but I don't recommend to use especially when you have kids. In our experience, we feel itched on the pool. And their pool towels have an off smell. But the water is warm, like a hot spring.

I went to this hotel to use the pool on a sunny day to relax. I am backpacking and I like to treat myself now and then to a more luxurious hotel pool to wind down. I don't have a lot of good to say about this place other than the size of the pool. It's huge and seemed clean enough. However, they wouldn't allow us to use the WiFi because we weren't hotel guests. I paid to use the pool so I am still a paying guest. In this day and age it's absolutely pathetic not to give out a WiFi password, seriously?! The staff were miserable and de motivated. There were about 6 plastic loungers and all the rest were just chairs so I couldn't actually even lay down as people had claimed all the loungers with their towels. The place is really dated and run down and clearly trying to claw back on money. Needs a revamp and some new staff! If I was staying here I would definitely move it's not a nice environment at all.

Everything in this hotel is about money. The staff at the reception has very poor communication, service and hospitality skills. Almost all of them are always looking down in their computer or papers. They should be looking at the faces of the customers smile, say "good morning or hi" and ask "how can I help you? When one asks a question, they never have a positive answer or good answer. Well, it starts from the manager, I guess she is the manager (black very short hair) because they always refer to her for any question. Not a bottle of complimentary water to drink in the room. Every hotel has 2 everyday. Do not tell the customer, "we don't lend iron to guests, put your pants in the bag and it will be ironed for a fee” This hotel should have an ironing room if they cannot lend an iron to any customer. On my tour pick-up I was told, "if you want to make a call, you have to pay 20 baht, it is not free." A big hotel should have a concierge who can provide local call service. Food in the buffet restaurant is very poor! Same food everyday.

The hotel is very close to old town, has pros and cons. Exterior of the hotel doesn’t give a very welcome feel. The lobby more or less is the same. The reception desk facility is very very old. I was surprised to see such Old computer. The staff on the other hand are polite. The room we got was facing towards a mountain which we could see the tip. Room and bathroom interior is same as the hotel very old, sofa was very dirty visible stains. Bed, pillow and blanket looked clean neither had visible stains. In the amenities we used the pool which is huge. The pool doesn’t seem in function anymore as artificial fruits were placed on the bar table. As for the Meal in the hotel we were having breakfast only and it was good with loads of variety The hotel is connected to the mall from ground level making it very convenient for shopping, money exchange and shopping etc..

Reviews here reflect the preferences and expectations of the visitor. This is a good Asian city and Lotus fits right in. Convenient to airport, nightlife, and mall. Rooms are generous if dated. Aircon is perhaps too powerful and requires a bit of fiddling. Breakfast is very good. The staff were uniformly polite to us. Of course the pool is awesome. The Elvis impersonator is fun and kitschy. We were at a conference and found the facilities good. Our event planner was SAM Assist. They are top notch. I can not recommend them highly enough.

Just read previous bad reviews of this 'hotel' and have been laughing as everything mentioned is true, my ONLY positive is the pool. Every member of staff from the front desk to the restaurant to the bar I swear have never had a days hospitality training in their life, I've never been made to feel so awkward in all my life by staff members with miserable faces and when you look at smile at them they awkwardly look away, filthy rooms, puddle of water under my sink, a plumber then let himself into my room 3 times without knocking along with other members of hotel staff who said nothing to me just came in and out and didn't clear up the original puddle, it was genuinely comically bad, stains on tablecloth in room, stains on my pillow, cold shower asian karaoke in lobby till gone midnight outside everyone's rooms, absolutely mental. Good luck!!
