Please allow me to rate this place with 10 stars. The level of professionalism, the high-end pampering, I just can't say enough about the staff. From day one, every single staff member, in a very seamless way, was there to make our stay incredibly comfortable and warm. The place was extremely well kept, top of the line rooms and very...

My husband and I stayed at The 137 for 5 nights. It was recommended by our travel agent and did not disappoint in anyway, in fact was just about perfect. Our room/ suite was huge, elegant, impeccably clean and lovely and cool. The choice of indoors and outdoor showers was lovely. The hotel surroundings are gorgeous and you really wouldn't...

This place is incredible. For work, I travel all around the globe and this is one of the nicest places I have stayed. With the 150 year old building (breakfast and bar) to the pool to the rooms, this place is fantastic. Furthermore, the people that work there are extremely friendly and helpful. We didn't do the spa since it...

This hotel was beautiful, but maybe I expected more based on all the reviews and it's rankings on many well know travel sights, but it was a little disappointing. Especially when every hotel in the region seems to offer exemplary service, this didn't standout for me as I expected it to. The Butler gave me restaurant recommendations were fine, but...

Dear NYCTravelingAtty, Many thanks for singling out the Old Fashioned at Jack Bain's Bar as being "great" and for describing 137 Pillars House as beautiful. As manager, I was perturbed to read that our service was a tad off expectations and that we just missed the mark on personalized attention. Your feedback has been shared with the team so each...

137 Pillars House lives up to its reputation as one of the best hotels in Thailand. The location a little outside makes it a wonderful oasis. A short tuk tuk ride to anywhere. The butler took care of recommendations and reservations. I loved walking from my bungalow to the teak pillars house for a delicious breakfast. You get to pick...

Yes they have hairdryers as several others have already pointed out. I HIGHLY recommend this boutique hotel over the "chain" ones in the area. You won't be disappointed...even if you had to lug your own hairdryer. Ha! If you need advice on other things to see/do in Chiang Mai, send me a message. Happy to help!

I agree with MattB90. The hotel did wash our clothes AND shoes after our excursion to the Patara Elephant Reserve. Boy we're we dirty! They weren't able to save them but there was no charge.

As for as packing...one word...Cotton! It's hot and it's truely going to save you. No rayon or polyester. You will be miserable. I ended up buying very very reasonable clothes there at the markets. Another note about clothing is that lightweight clothing was super easy to wash in the sink and hang. It literally drys in a couple of hours. I did this often as we spent 3 weeks in Thailand.

Enjoy your trip!

Patara elephant preserve is by far a wonderful adventure. We played with a 7 month old baby elephant. Fed and washed our assigned elephant in the river. Then rode them up a mountain and had a picnic lunch with fellow travelers. They gave us a DVD of photos and videos taken of us all.

It is fantastic!
